Judges for this competition are Lentil Pulse and Amber Rose Turner, hosted by Big Jay

Our last ever drag show, and your last chance to experience the Iota magic before we walk off into the sunset 🌄

Non-profit event i.e. all ticket sales go to cover the costs of the event (venue hire £30, competition cash prize £100, any left over goes to pay judges and performer travel)

Throwback to the first Rainbow Barn Dance!
This year we are fundraising for on Saturday 29th October at

Event schedule:
5:30pm - attending solo? Join us for the pre-event social, say howdy, order some dinner and meet some friendly new cowfolk 🍽️🍻

7pm - the dance begins, yeehaw! We'll get your spurs a-clickin' with some rootin tootin tunes and q***r faves 🪩

8pm - barn callers and will kick off the group dances and will be leading you through some classics, such as Time Warp, Macarena, Cha Cha Slide and of course Cotton Eye Joe 🤠

11pm - event ends, see you next year 💕

Featuring a mini raffle and a stall from 🌈✨

We gave a little over £75 to each charity and £91 to the GoFundMe in the equivalent currencies

In December, Iota Events will be taking a rest and working on a rebrand, to be launched on our 3rd anniversary at the end of January 2025 with a free entry non-drag sober afternoon event suitable for all ages.

A little vent if you may allow it - I am quite tired of producing drag events, it is an exhausting and thankless job, especially as a q***r person of colour, and these events are clearly not needed or wanted by anyone in Reading right now (specifically related to Iota Events). Tired of the q***r politics, drunk and drugged up people, being criticized for not being 100% perfect, being stressed by ticket sales/audience attendance and losing friendships. We don't have the audience or community support that we used to in the beginning and I can't afford to keep putting my own money into events to supplement ticket sales. Big Jay wants to drag to be fun again and sometimes giving up is the right thing to do 💖

We celebrated Pride in accessible and welcoming safe spaces whilst thinking of Palestine and all ongoing genocides in the world. Sudan, Congo, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, too many more to name, too many innocent people suffering. A community of almost 100 kind-hearted, caring people who proactively want to help make the world a better place and use their voices for the oppressed, all through the Power of Love. With zero icky corporate sponsors involved.

The need for activism is still there and there is still plenty to do - please keep on fighting. None of us are free until we are all free! 🏞️🌊🍉
