I love it when there's a spare one 🎉

It's been a busy day of baking, so a quick break in the sunshine with a cuppa & a lovely fluffy scone was just the ticket 😋

Cream teas are £2.50 per head & include your choice of a plain or fruit scone, Cornish clotted cream, strawberry jam & a delicious cup of Clipper organic tea.

Today seems like the perfect day to share with you some of the things we've been doing to help our beautiful & struggling planet, which needs our aid now more than ever...

Considering our environmental impact was so important when starting the tea tray; the research took soooo long we thought we'd never get the business of the ground!

Step one was to source as many of our ingredients as possible from incredible local ethical producers that are also environmentally responsible; meaning a lower carbon footprint and a huge reduction in food miles.

Even better, it boosts our local economy and means we can ensure every little treat that arrives from the tea tray has been made with love from field to plate (well, tray!).

We're super proud of our packaging too; it's made right here in the UK from fully sustainable sources & is 100% home compostable (it can also all be recycled if you don't have a compost heap yet 😉)

This little tray of delights was collected early this morning by a lovely chap who was just about to whisk his wife off on a surprise birthday picnic, how romantic! ❤️

I didn't want to post this too early in case I spoiled the surprise, I do hope they had a wonderful day.

Rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb!

This stunning plant is the first fruit (actually a vegetable but let's not split hairs!) of the year to come in to season & when its little shoots start peeking through in February, you can't help but be filled with joy and the promise of spring.

It's so beautiful, tasty & versatile that we simply had to find a place for it in the spring menu.

the tea tray's rhubarb isn't quite ready for harvesting unfortunately, so we've turned to the experts in the famous Yorkshire rhubarb triangle to supply us with tender, vibrant pink stalks to make our delicious sweet and sharp rhubarb compote; you'll find it hiding at the centre of our rhubarb cheesecake cupcakes.

Mmmm... yum! 🧁😋

Last minute cry for help!
A customer has just had to cancel their order barely an hour before they were due to collect it.
Can't let this little beauty go to waste (plus I would love to get them some of their money back, as it was beyond their control 😥)

It's amazing how so many tea bags STILL contain plastic, meaning millions of teeny tiny particles are let loose when they start to break down.

Not only do our new tea bags make a delicious cuppa, they are also organic, fairtrade, unbleached, non GM & contain absolutely no plastic.

Did I mention that they come from just down the road in Dorset?

Now that's something to celebrate!

This year it feels more important than ever to remind our mums just how special and loved they are ❤️

Happily for me, many of you have chosen to do it by sending these amazing women a beautiful afternoon tea, where fittingly, every ingredient has been made with love, all the way from farm to plate (well...tray!)

It's a busy, busy time; making up boxes, printing out all of your beautiful messages to pop inside, planning delivery routes, as well as baking my little behind off, of course!

It's an honour to play a part & I'm so excited to start delivering them tomorrow 🎉
