Alice and Nathan were married at the Grade II listed Forbury boutique hotel built in 1911. The Roseate Hotel, wedding venue is located within 5 minutes of Reading train station and can be found next door to the Reading Crown Court. The sandstone building of the court makes a beautiful backdrop to couple portraits in any weather.

All my weddings are memorable, however this wonderful day in May 5 years ago always sticks out in my mind. After a beautiful ceremony at The Crowne Plaza by the Reading registrars and the obligatory 'everyone' group photo in the hotel garden, the couple, guests and I all boarded the Caversham Princess for the drinks reception.
Whilst sailing up the River Thames to Mapledurham Lock and back I captured some Bride and Groom portraits, guest requests and lots of reportage moments.
As a photographer working alone I worked out a few logistics in advance with Thames Rivercruise to enable me to capture the story from all angles. The captain dropped me off by the rowing club on it's return to Caversham so that I could run onto on Caversham Bridge to capture the boat pass underneath after it had done a lap around Fry's Island!
The guests were also treated to some fantastic magic by Dan Hudson during the wedding breakfast.

After a bout of bad health Octavian & Ariadne decided there was no time like the present to seal their love and commitment to each other in front of their nearest and dearest in a intimate ceremony at Reading Town Hall’s Ceremony Room. Their smiles were clear for all to see, this was the start of a new chapter for them, full of optimism for their future and with cherished memories of their special day in Reading.

Surrounded by love, chandeliers, and the sweet melodies of a grand piano, Sean and Ellen recently tied the knot in the enchanting Victoria Hall Room at Reading Town Hall. From heartfelt vows to a special magical performance, their love story unfolded beautifully, surrounded by all of their family and friends. Once part of the Georgian Assembly Rooms, the Victoria Hall, named after Queen Victoria herself, is a large, bright space with graceful period character. It provides an elegant space for both wedding ceremonies and receptions and can hold up to 120 guests. Sean & Ellen’s memories were captured beautifully by not only in the Town Hall but also amidst the blooms of neighbouring Forbury Gardens, featuring the iconic Forbury Bandstand, the ideal backdrop for their treasured photos.

What a fab day we had yesterday at one of our most popular venues, The Narrowboat, for their Wedding Open Day. In the heart of Reading, within walking distance of the train station and town hall itself the newley refurbished pumping house turned gastropub & hotel situates itself right on the riverside of the Kennet and Avon Canal at Blake’s Lock. The Narrowboat offers 2 special ceremony spaces, the beautiful large Restaurant area, with its impressive high ceilings and quirky decor which holds up to 120 guests or the unique and special Majestic Bel barge boat on the river itself which can accommodate between 2 to 50 guests.
