We want to remind everyone that va**ng is strictly prohibited in all indoor areas at Scream Factory, including the queueing area. Not only is this the law in the UK, but va**ng indoors is also considered antisocial and disrupts the experience for others.

We are delighted to announce Scream Factory has been nominated for 'Best Visitor Experience' and 'Most Creative Production' at the Access All Areas Awards.

The awards take place at the O2 arena in London on December 5th and we just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has visited us since, Scream Factory began in 2012.

We are a small family business and we are honoured to be nominated alongside some of the most notable events and festivals in the industry.

A huge well done and thank you to all our cast and crew who make Scream Factory what it is!

Our Story

Scream Factory is produced by Imaginative Productions, a small family run events company that was set up as a means to diversify our fire and flood restoration business. ‘Fire and floods have very little to do with Halloween Haunts,’ you might think to yourself... but we utilise the skills of our experienced joiners, electricians, plumbers and decorators etc to help create buildings and sets that you would only expect to find on a Hollywood movie set.

Scream Factory has grown from a tour in the woods to a permanent site in the grounds of an old nursery behind Kirkleatham Museum and is now the North East’s largest and scariest multi-award winning Halloween Haunt. Last October, our cast and crew grew to over 100 and we scared over 22,000 visitors.

Each year we build on what we have, to try and bring you the best and funniest frights of your lives! New for 2018 we introduced a brand new Valentine’s event which opened for a two day limited scare special. Thousands attended over the weekend for a very different romantic Scream Factory.

In May, we added another award to our bag at ScareCon’s European Scare Awards, “Best Out of Season Scare Event” and ramped up the energy for the October site build.
