Today, we celebrate the birthday of a true legend, a man who has touched our hearts and souls with his music for decades. Happy 90th to the one and only Willie Nelson!
He's a symbol of resilience, of standing up for what you believe in, and of never giving up on your dreams. He's a champion of farmers and the working class, using his platform to raise awareness and support for their struggles

Six years ago today, on 16 June 2016, Jo Cox was murdered while on her way to a constituency surgery in Batley and Spen. Those closest to Jo lost a devoted mum, daughter, sister, wife, friend, and colleague. The country lost a talented parliamentarian, passionate campaigner, and life-long humanitarian.

The causes Jo cared about still demand urgent action: protecting civilians in conflict, empowering women in politics, and building less lonely, more connected communities. We miss her voice and powerful advocacy on these crucial issues.

Although Jo can’t be with us as we face today’s challenges, at The Jo Cox Foundation we are led by the values that guided Jo’s life: her sense of empathy, her belief in collaboration, and her ambition for change. Like her, we believe we have more in common than that which divides us.

The anniversary of Jo’s murder is a moment of reflection and an occasion to remember her life and legacy. As an organisation, we continue our work to bring about the kinder society that Jo dedicated her life to building - inspired always by the example that she set.

🌷🌼With Spring here and everything looking 'blooming' wonderful, the UK Health Security Agency West Midlands want to remind everyone to take the time to be 'tick aware'.

Ticks are small parasites which feed off of animal - and human - blood, and can in turn cause a serious illness known as Lyme Disease.

According to Dr Naveed Syed, Consultant in Communicable Disease Control with UKHSA West Midlands:

"Early signs may include mild flu-like symptoms such as fever, headache and fatigue, often accompanied by a characteristic spreading circular ‘bulls-eye rash’ (see photos) that can appear at the site of the tick bite 1 to 4 weeks later – though not everyone will have this rash, or it could be missed if under the hairline or on part of the body that’s difficult to see.

Other symptoms are muscle pain, joint pain, high temperature, chills and neck stiffness; with more severe symptoms including sharp or prickly nerve pains and paralysis of the facial muscles – typically on one side."

For more information on ticks and tricks to stay safe, check out their blog ➡️ https://ukhsa.blog.gov.uk/tag/lyme-disease/
