Last night, I was privileged enough to be back for my 3rd year at The Tardebigge hosting luxury wreath making workshops.

Some amazing creations were made. Each person given access to chose from a selection of wreath material, to make thier creation completely unique.

WHY WE HANG WREATHS......

Wreaths are hung at many points in the year for various reasons, but are most commonly associated with Christmas.

Wreaths we're hung initially buy our Pagan ansistors to symbolise the circle of life and the link to the life cycle and the seasons. The Wreath and it's symboligy was adopted buy Christianity and adorned with Holly among other evergreens to represent advent and welcoming christ into homes over the winter season.

This history and symboligy really hit a high point in the victorian era... most houses celebrated a very Christian oriantated christmas and foraging for a wreath and buying them from grocers and crafter became a must for most victorian households.

Today wreaths are as popular and individual as christmas trees. The history and symbolism reaching far back 1000's of years.

I love wreath season. It kick starts December for me with the strong smells of pine and eucalyptus filling the air.

LIVINING IN THE MOMENT....

whenever I tell people that I'm a florist, I get people telling me that it must be wonderful to be so in tune with the seasons......this is true to a point.

the reality is, and I assume it can be for most other florists, is that we always have to be one step ahead..... so yes; bouquets and items I produce are reflective of late summer joy right now...... however, my mind tends to be taken over buy planning any events and content I need to create over the next few months of autum..... meaning that sometimes I forget to applicate the stage of the year we are actually in. Made a whole lot harder this year thanks to our glorious British weather🤣🤣🤣

ITS BEEN A WHILE....

Indeed it has.......

Life threw my family was a bit of a curve ball at the beginning of the year, meaning I needed to slow down my work and focus on the health and well-being of my boys. Any of you who know me personally know that I was planning on having a bit of a rest anyway...... so there is not much lost, really just a later return to it than I initially had planned

After a bit of a rest, soul searching, research, and acceptance..... and with Autumn and a new school year fast approaching..... it is finally time for me to start putting myself out there.

I don't know about you lot, but the gloomy weather is making me think ahead to the autumn..... so watch out while I share over the coming days, my love for all things autumnal, gothic, and folklore based.
