A wake catered today for a lovely family in Solihull. The wake menu offers a selection of all of my favourite buffet items. As usual all freshly made, meats home roasted and cakes, pastries and scones all made from scratch.
Hosting provided today and tea and coffee served as well as set up and tidy away afterwards, leaving the family to catch up and share precious memories.

Back from an amazing holiday to Vietnam with the most amazing food and feeling rested albeit a little jet lagged!
However one thing I miss when away is my homemade sourdough.
My starter has been left “sleeping” in the fridge for 18 days so I fed it on Tuesday and really expected to have to give it a double feed but within 6 hours it was doubled in size so I made my dough.
The result are these beautiful seeded loaves that I will be tucking into for lunch.
This goes to show that you don’t have to constantly feed your starter and once you have a good baking schedule it takes very little time to make delicious homemade bread.
I’m always happy to give away a small amount of my starter if you fancy trying to bake yourself.

If it is possible I will always try and fit customers requests in. This company messaged to confirm their booking Monday late afternoon for a delivery Wednesday lunch. I was in Amsterdam till 11pm Monday but was up for the challenge. Set my alarm early Tuesday to shop for ingredients and get everything baked and prepped. Resulting in very Happy customers
