Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

1st December bringing all the festive feels to Willow Grey HQ. Now just to keep the pups, cat and hubby away from the prezzies!

Every single decoration on our tree is unique. Some have come from our travels, some are memorial pieces and this year we added a 2020 reminder.

Do you stick to a theme each year or are your Decorations individual pieces like ours?

A world in crisis, lives full of worry and fear. If not now then when?

Now more than ever we need to practice gratitude and to give thanks for what we do have.

2020 has been one hell of a year for us all but Covid will not win, it will not defeat us. So let's join our friends from across to pond to give thanks. Give thanks for what we do have.

I've actually borrowed this from an old school friend's post (thanks ), a lady that recently has become quite inspirational to me.

So hear are the 10 things I'm grateful for this year...

1️⃣ the health and happiness of all those I care about
2️⃣ the ability to do the job I love with the unconditional support of friends, family and the man in my life.
3️⃣ spending more time at home with hubby to be, the pups and of course the cat
4️⃣ my step kids. The very best young adults I know. I couldn't be prouder of them.
5️⃣ being able to slow down, take stock and just enjoy every moment.
6️⃣ being able to help make all your dream weddings a reality
7️⃣ the support, advice and guidance of the , and all the other wonderful members
8️⃣ hubby to be. I'm so grateful to be able to spend my life with you by my side, supporting me in every way. My absolute rock, my biggest cheerleader and the glue that keeps me together
9️⃣ you guys. This online community of clients, supporters, suppliers, business leaders and all round wonderful bunch of humans
🔟 nan. You may no longer be here, but you shaped my life and led me to this path of happiness, contentment and love.

It of course goes without saying that we are thankful for all those wonderful superhumans working to heal our world right now.

Your turn! What are you thankful for?

"They shall jot grow old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall jot weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them."

Lest we forget.

This is heartbreaking 💔

Having myself gone to try on the wedding dress I should of been wearing to my own wedding on 21st November and being left feeling devastated, emotional and angry.

I cannot imagine how this poor family are feeling. I lend my voice to her at this difficult time.

Stay strong. Stand together. We are still here.

Yesterday the campaign team were made aware of a desperately awful situation in our community.

A bride (who wishes to remain anonymous) was planning a wedding for 21st November for just 15 guests, having reduced from 100+ and postponed earlier in the year.

She is a mother. And she has stage 4 secondary breast cancer. It’s now moved to her bones and lymph nodes, and she is at home under palliative care. She would still like to get married with just immediate family present (maximum 6 people).

Today she was refused a marriage under “exceptional circumstances” and the rules were updated to only permit a “deathbed wedding” in a hospital if someone is not expected to recover.

We are appalled by the terminology and the lack of empathy. There is a fundamental legal right to marry under Article 12 of the Human Rights Act.

We are supporting as much as we can but we want to ask our community to lend their voices to hers at this extremely difficult time. We are waiting for a petition to be approved but if we can all share, tweet, tag MP’s and make some noise to ensure her story is heard it would mean the world. Her local MP is Kevin Hollinrake on Twitter. He says his hands are tied unless she gets in touch directly (understandably her situation is a bit difficult). This isn’t just about one story though. It’s about the rights of couples, society, and the importance of marriage being respected by our government. It’s about language, and empathy. Human kindness.

As ever, thank you for your support. Together we are stronger.

Something dark this way comes!

Have you ever dreamed of a Halloween wedding but without the pumpkins? Look no further.

This little stunner was actually created for a 30th birthday a few years back. The client wanted something dark and alternative to suit their personality.

Remember, no matter what the event, its all about you! My job it to help you bring all those personal details to your special day. Click the link in bio to find out more.
