😢😢😢 Important & Sad News 😢😢😢

Statement from Player Ready Unleashed:

Its with great sadness we have to say goodbye to the Unleashed Gaming Van.

From today the team will only be offering our VR Arena & VR Party Hire which requires a venue or covered space.

In March we signed a contract to continue in the current van beyond the initial 12-month contract, we expected to continue at least until end of summer 2023.

However, this month we learned the company supplying the van made a big mistake and is exiting the van market.

We were then offered the chance to purchase the van which up until 15th May 23 (yesterday) was going ahead. Sadly yesterday they dropped the bombshell they couldn't even sell the van anymore.

This means we need to return the van to them and of course have a limited time to remove our equipment. Thus leaving us with little choice or legal options on the matter and without time to arrange an alternative.

So the team has decided to call it quits now rather than try restart in a new van, at least until we can secure a long term option.

When we started this Gaming Van experiment 12 months ago, we hoped to purchase and move into an electric van, once we proved it was viable. We've been discussing with a major manufacturer to sponsor the new electric van and hoped to move into it this autumn.

The experiment hasn't been without its challenges.

The biggest is based in Cornwall and the extra fuel and driving time that it takes to get to even places like Exeter means that we must be extra busy just to break even.

Finding enough staff has also proved a challenge so we are concentrating on our VR Centres, VR Hire & upcoming Coding Giants courses.

Initially the van was dual purpose, it was needed to transport our events team to events like Comic-Cons. But that has now changed, the “VR Arena” events kit which we use at Comic Cons and events, now fits inside a normal car rendering that use redundant.

While this has somewhat been forced on us by the supplier as we would have prefered to continue at least until September.

Due to their T&Cs and officially revoking the contract, it would also mean our insurance is invalid from 19th May 23

The only mobile option now is hire “VR Arena & Party Package” – but these require a venue such as a community centre, hotel event space, school hall or a BIG house!

You can also 4 VR hire headsets a upto four consoles suitable to use in your home and we will be announcing details this week.

The team stopped taking new bookings as soon as we knew there was a potential issue, just in case we couldn't resolve it.

But until yesterday we thought by end of May the van would be purchased allowing us to continue.

We have met so many lovely people and the van has made it to parties in sunshine, rain and snow and we hope one day to return to offering Gaming Van parties.
