Ifor Parry (known as Rovi) (29 November 1919 – 8 June 1996) was a Welsh magician. He was a Gold Star Medalist of the Inner Magic Circle, was known amongst magicians as The Welsh Wizard and was called 'a British legend' by Opus Magazine. Specializing in card magic, his original creations were published in "Rovi Reveals" as part of the Supreme Magic Teach-in Series by Lewis Ganson. The Rovi Trophy is presented annually for the best card trick at the International Brotherhood of Magicians' British Ring Convention. Rovi was born in Caernarfon and was a key member of the North Wales Magic Circle.

Join us as we learn more about this NWMC legend and induct him into the North Wales Magic Circle Hall of Fame.

our March Lecture

Radek Hoffman is a Polish mentalist living in the UK now. He has 17 years of experience performing magic and mentalism. He has performed and lectured in many countries in the world, including UEA, Italy, Poland, Cyprus, Norway, the UK. He wrote two books about mentalism. The last Book of M is translated into English and is already sold out in Penguin Magic. He created and performed several one-man shows and he toured with them all around Poland. He is very creative and he is looking for unique solutions in mentalism. He is a well known mentalist in Poland and he organised many workshops and events for the magic community in Poland.


Radek has a lot of unique and interesting material that starts from close-up mentalism and ends with very visual and intriguing stage routines. He has big experience doing lectures and he pays attention to the details. He is very open to sharing his knowledge and experience.

The lecture is a mixture of close-up and stage mentalism with a very unique twist. Radek is trying to create unpredictable and visually engaging routines that the audience will remember for a long time.

Our May meeting will be an interview, Q & A and maybe a little extra from Trevor Lewis.

Trevor Lewis is an entertainer of international repute. He has appeared at venues throughout Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand and has completed many lecture tours of America, appearing at all major magic conventions.

He has hosted numerous magic cruises on the Q.E.2. for Repro Magic and has a wide experience entertaining children of all ages. He has been resident magician on several television series in Wales.

He has hosted his own series of magic shows, called Trevor’s Tricks. Other TV appearances have been as far afield as Japan, U.S.A. and Australia.

Trevor is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and is a Gold Star Member of the Inner Magic Circle.

His Close-Up performances have won him the Magic Circle Award, the Zina Bennet Cup for Close-Up Magic and at the FISM Congress of Magic in Vienna, he won the Close-Up Card Award. He was the first magician in Britain to achieve this triple award. Trevor has also won numerous awards for his comedy presentations and has worked with some of the biggest names in the business.

In 2006, at the KiDabra Convention in America, Trevor was the recipient of a plaque for his lifetime contribution to Children’s Magic.

In 2008, Trevor was installed as President of the British Ring of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

This promises to be another fantastic evening with the North Wales Magic Circle.

Due to Trevor Lewis not being available for our March meeting we have re scheduled it to May. Instead we have an amazing lecture for you from Lord Harri Harrington.

Lord Harri, Member of the Magic Circle, creator of Harribo and Bang Sharpie (Both BMC Top Sellers) presents his ‘Elementary Lecture’.

We are moving back to, what some call, the spiritual home of the North Wales Magic Circle. Thats right folks after a fantastic refurbishment our meetings will now take place at the Rhyl Little Theatre from October. Starting with Scott's Presidents night. Meet at 7:30 for an 8:00 start.
