The Drama Hut was created in order to provide a service that teachers could access, to help bring the curriculum to life. Through our drama workshops, children are able to experience a subject, complementing and enhancing their learning in the classroom.

🙏 Thank you to The Epiphany School in Bournemouth for this wonderful feedback on our Great Fire of London Workshop that actor Matt led recently!

🤩 We are so pleased to hear how much the class enjoyed the workshop!

🔥 In this workshop, children create pictures in teams of London and the fire, discuss quotes from Samuel Pepys’ diary, act out a poem about the Great Fire of London, and embody the fire through movement and song!

🤔 They will also debate with Pepys about the fire’s impact on London and discuss ways to improve future architecture.

On this day in history, Henry Tudor (later known as King Henry VII) fought against Richard III in a big battle called the Battle of Bosworth Field. Henry Tudor won the battle and became the new king, Henry VII. 👑 This battle helped to stop a long fight between two families called the Yorkists and the Lancastrians, known as the Wars of the Roses. 🌹 Henry VII started a new reign, the Tudor dynasty, and became the king of England on this day in history in 1485!

Our Pirates on Parade workshop is swashbuckling fun, lively and educational session for Key Stage 1! 🏴‍☠️ Why not tie in a Pirate themed day with a workshop from us for Talk Like a Pirate Day 19th September? 🦜

Within this workshop, Polly the pirate leads the class on a series of pirate missions; they must learn a shanty, discover the different parts of a ship, be put to work scrubbing the deck as well as learning about famous pirates from the past, all through drama and teamwork! 🎭

Have you heard of Ada Lovelace? Ada is considered to be the first computer programmer. Born in London in 1815, at a time when many wealthy women were not studying maths and science, Lovelace excelled in the subjects! 🧮

Amelia Earhart set many records during her flying career. Some of her most famous records include being the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She also set altitude records and distance records for flying. Amelia Earhart was a trailblazer in the field of aviation and her achievements continue to inspire people today! ✈️

Our Celtic warrior had a brilliant time recently at Warren Road Primary School leading our Roman and Celts Workshop! 🛡️

The year 3’s played games in teams to explore the Roman invasion of a Britain, learned some Latin words and marched in formations into battle and even explored some of the mighty Roman Gods and Goddesses through drama! 🎭

We had a wonderful time yesterday leading our #WorldWar1 workshop for pupils at Coworth Flexlands School! 🪖 Year 5 and 6 met nurse Edith Cavell, made pictures of the era in teams, created a timeline putting the war into a historical context, sang a song and acted out a poem all about Cavell’s life! 🎭 We also learnt about propaganda and conscientious objectors and the passing of the white feather, which became a symbol of cowardice in the First World War.
