"Floral Anthology" my demonstration this week was a joy to share because I had the most beautiful seasonal flowers to use. Some were harvested from my garden, which is crammed with perennials at the moment, funny how I always find room for one more plant...I know I am not alone when it comes to plant passion, as I admitted this to the audience there were several murmers of agreement ๐ชด
I had to share the stage with an interesting array of stage props including a chaise longue and a piano as they had scheduled the demonstration in the middle of rehearsals for a play! ๐ญSeveral of the props can be seen in the background, it looks like I'm demonstrating in a Victorian drawing room!
Each piece was designed around the flowers, such as "Toxic" all about beautiful but deadly flowers โ ๏ธ inspired by the poison garden at Alnwick Gardens and "Wild" which is about appreciating the abundance of wild flowers which are everywhere at the moment and so important for the ecosystem and biodiversity of the dales meadows ๐ฟ and "Folkloric" which delves into mythology and why some flowers have quirky common names my favourite is Nigella damascena known as love in the mist or the Yorkshire version is snog in the fog โ๏ธ ๐ all about unrequited love and lost love ๐
