Offering Councils a simple, sustainable, scalable and proven model that transforms their ‘under-utilized’ library & other public space into flexible, affordable work

space for a diverse community of ‘Members’ (generating income, investment, footfall & awareness) - a home for business to grow

Operating in the heart of local Communities we create a ‘Network’ of Members (startups + coworkers). We connect the Member Network with a Partner network (VIPs, Community + Local / National Business Partners) - a garage to grow

Our Story

The Wimbletech CIC project began back in October 2013 and was created to solve a really simply problem. I had funding for a mobile app startup, had flown to India, built a team, returned to the UK to develop the business. I was (struggling!) working from the combination of coffee shops across London + my small rented room in Wimbledon (aka ‘The Appcave’).

I needed a better solution - somewhere local that was affordable, flexible, and where I would be surrounded by other like-minded people, with different skills and experiences - I needed a ‘home’ in which to grow my business, burn the midnight oil and create the best possible chance of creating a better life for myself and my family... and drink huge amounts of coffee! In desperate need of a solution, I took the streets, and found the answer upstairs above Wimbledon Reference Library.

Libraries are a valuable Community asset and are massively under threat - faced with changing community requirements and increased financial pressures, they need to find new, additional ways to generate revenue, awareness and footfall - they could help us... and we could help them - together we would be stronger!

We’re proud to have you along for the next part of y(our) journey - there are no strangers in any of our spaces, only friends you’ve not yet met... so get involved, give more than you take and in return, we’ll do all we can to make your stay with us as valuable for you as possible.. here’s to the journey, here’s to the adventure, here’s to our Libraries and the Communities they serve.. let’s help each other (thepoweristhenetwork!) create something amazing
