In September I will be embarking on a challenge of a lifetime, trekking the Sumatran jungle in aid of Porchlight, a fabulous local charity for homeless young people.

We're open for lunch and dinner Thursday and Friday this week, closed Saturday for a private function, and open Sunday lunchtime for our usual traditional Sunday roasts featuring a choice of starters from just £6, main courses from just £14 and delicious deserts from £6. All made from scratch, no packet sauces or other nasties! Thanks to the nice weather there's still plenty of herbs from the gardens too.

Here’s a quick shoutout to all the ladies that came to my wreath workshops at Christmas 🤶 If you’ve still got yours knocking about somewhere how about turning it into a spring wreath!
These pictures show how easy it is…..and much quicker than making a Christmas wreath!

If you fancy having a go, I’ve got all the stuff and would be happy to put a kit together 😁

All you need is some twine or string, scissors, moss and about 7 - 9 viola or pansy plugs.

1. Take off all the Christmas foliage but leave the moss (this is the most time consuming part)

2. Tie the string or twine onto the ring (ideally where your hook is)

3. Place a plug onto the ring and wind the string around it about three times (in the same way as we did with the wire for the Christmas wreath) be careful not to crush the little plant.

4. Keep going all the way round the ring making sure you have space in between each plant.

5. Once you have gone all the way round fill in the gaps with the moss winding the string round it in the same way.

6. Once you’ve gone all the way round securely tie the string onto the ring. Give the whole thing a good drink. Hang it on the door.
