When I Saw These Colours… Oooh La La La! 🎨✨

When I saw these new colours for the first time, my reaction? Oooh La La La! 💙💚💜 They had me hooked instantly, and I couldn’t wait to start creating!

💚 Macaron Pistachio – Fresh, vibrant, and full of life—like a breath of fresh air in balloon form.
💙 Retro Denim – Deep, bold, and effortlessly stylish. A colour that commands attention without even trying.
💜 Standard Periwinkle – Soft, dreamy, and full of dimension. Sometimes blue, sometimes lilac, always elegant.

What do you think of patterned balloons?

I love how patterned balloons can totally change a design! For this display, I used the Savannah Wild Berry print to make these bold distortion flowers, and they just pop against the softer colours like Sea Green, Baby Pink, and Pale Pink. I’ve kept it balanced with a hint of mirrored gold because, let’s be honest, a little pattern goes a long way.

2025 is officially here, and I’m taking a moment to look back on 2024—a year full of ups, downs, and incredible growth. Here are some of the lessons I’m carrying into the new year:
1. Stay the Course: Growth isn’t instant, but small steps add up to big changes.
2. Be Proud of Yourself: From honing my skills to teaching and creating, I’ve made progress I’m so proud of—and that’s worth celebrating.
3. Creativity Takes Courage: Mixing twisting, distortion, organics, and florals reminded me that stepping out of my comfort zone creates magic.
4. Setbacks Are Lessons: The academy didn’t grow as quickly as I hoped, but it did grow, and that’s a win in itself.
5. Celebrate the Wins: Even the smallest victories—like a reel doing well or mastering a technique—are worth celebrating.
6. The Right People Will See Your Worth: Not everyone will appreciate your value, but the ones who do make it all worthwhile.
7. Community is Everything: Creating a safe, supportive space for others has been as fulfilling as creating designs.
8. Perfection Isn’t the Goal: The joy and memories your work creates are what truly matter.
9. Keep Your Sparkle: Tough days will come, but don’t let them dull your passion or creativity.

This year wasn’t always easy, but I’ve learned so much and grown in ways I never imagined. If you’ve had a challenging year, know you’re not alone—keep going, because brighter days are ahead. And if you’re celebrating your wins, no matter how small, I’m cheering for you!

I’m deeply honoured to have been part of the . Being shortlisted for both “Organic Balloon Artist 2024” and “Best Balloon Artist 2024” and then becoming a finalist in the latter category is a milestone I truly cherish.

As a self-taught artist, this recognition comes after a period of profound challenges and growth. Three years ago, my son’s illness turned our world upside down. I stepped away from the event industry to be his primary carer, recording tutorials from my dining room to keep my passion alive.

Eighteen months ago, my Instagram was hacked, forcing me to rebuild from scratch with little to no support. Despite these hurdles, I’ve remained dedicated to creating and sharing my craft.

I want to congratulate everyone who was shortlisted, all finalists, and the winners.

My heartfelt thanks go to Amelia from for organizing the event and to all the sponsors for supporting.

I’m not sure what doors being a finalist may open, if any, but I am proud of where I am in my journey. Thank you for acknowledging the artistry and passion that have brought me here thank you for being the best judges.

Pumpkin Falls 🍂🎃

I can’t thank Lisa from enough for the inspiration behind this piece!

For those of you who aren’t familiar, Lisa created a gorgeous teacup overflowing with flowers, and it was truly sensational. Go and check it out.

After admiring her work, I messaged Lisa, I asked if she’d mind me giving it a go, with a bit of a twist on the theme.

With Lisa’s blessing, I got to work and created Pumpkin Falls, capturing the essence of autumn spilling out of the cup.
