"🚨 JUST ANNOUNCED – LOCAL JOBS, SKILLS AND APPRENTICESHIPS FAIR NEXT MONTH

Next month on Friday 14 February I’ll be hosting another jobs, skills and apprenticeships fair at Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch between 9.30am – 12.30pm in collaboration with Job Centre Plus Romford.

The fair, which is taking place during National Apprenticeship Week, will host a number of employers and training providers from across the region who are looking to hire and take on local people.

There will be businesses and organisations from across a range of sectors including:

🚨 Emergency Services
🚗 Motor Industry
🚆 Transport
🔜 And many more soon to be announced

Havering Council’s next Para Art - clay modelling session is being held this February holiday at Fairkytes Arts Centre, Billet Lane, Hornchurch, RM11 1AX.

This session is for S.E.N.D. young people.

The session will be held on Tuesday 19/02/2025, 1-2pm. Parent/personal assistants/guardians must stay throughout the session.

IMPORTANT: Bookings and payments must take place in advance of the session, we are unable to accommodate arrivals on the day at this time. All attendees including personal assistants/parents/guardians and siblings will count towards capacity, so please state all who will be attending upon booking.

Holocaust Memorial Day is this Sunday, info. below ⬇️

Havering’s annual Holocaust Memorial Day Service will take place at 2pm on Sunday 26 January 2025 in Coronation Gardens, Main Road, Romford, ahead of the actual Holocaust Memorial Day on Monday 27 January.
This important event gives us the opportunity to stop and remember the millions of people who have been murdered, or whose lives were changed beyond recognition during the Holocaust, N**i persecution and in subsequent genocides including those in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
The theme for this year's Holocaust Memorial Day is ‘For a better future’, and it marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest N**i concentration camp complex, and the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Bosnia.

"Is Harold Hill your Home?

Come to MyPlace on Saturday 18 January between 10am and 12noon and tell researcher Jade Hunter what it means to you.

Jade Hunter is a PhD student at Queen Mary University of London in Mile End, doing research in collaboration with Eastside Community Heritage, a community heritage organisation.Through oral history interviews with local residents, her PhD research project focuses on what it means to call Harold Hill ‘home’, and how this may relate to a sense of belonging. She is looking to speak to residents about their memories and experiences of Harold Hill over time.

If you are interested in finding out more about the research, she will be at MyPlace on Saturday 18 January between 10 am and 12pm to hear residents’ memories of Harold Hill and would love to chat with you about your experiences."
