Can anyone help keep Rotherfield Baby and Toddler Group open?

21/01/2024

It is with the sad news that Leanne will be stepping down as lead from the middle of February as she is off following her dreams.

We are looking for another dedicated and hard working individual or team to take over. The ideal person/people would be able to set up the group (this usually takes around half an hour) and pack away. Approximately 8:45/9am until 11:15 ish.

Our group runs every Monday (excluding bank/public holidays) and is a huge asset to the community. This is run on a voluntary basis.

For more information please drop us a message or speak to us directly in 2 weeks time when we are back.

We thank you all for you continued support 🙏🏻

Just a little reminder to say we are closed Monday 13th Feb for half term.

We are pleased to announce that Rotherfield Baby & Toddler Group is staying open. We will update you all in the week, but see you next Monday as normal. 🤗

Playgroup is open tomorrow. If anyone is able to help get the toys out from under the stage that would be amazing. I will be there from 8:30ish.

Potentially this is the last ever session for Rotherfield Playgroup. We don’t have enough people power or lead to take over the running of the group. If anyone is interested in taking it over then please let us know urgently.

We have cover for the kitchen (teas & coffees), but need more people to help setup and pack away. We kindly have two parent volunteers, but it’s not enough going forward.

We also need a lead to take over from me. You will need to be able to go on the community bank and be able to deposit the cash at a Barclays Bank (Tunbridge Wells or Heathfield, either monthly or termly).

It really would be a shame for the group to close and it’s clear there is a big need for it within the community.

Pop me over a message if you can help in anyway.

Clair 🤗

Christmas Party Postponed due to snow.

We’ve taken the decision to postpone our Christmas Party until we are back in Jan (Christmas in Jan why not!!). The snow is not going away anytime soon and it will freeze overnight. We really don’t want you taking your little ones and babies out in this weather, so let’s save it for Jan.

Enjoy what possibly is your littles ones first snow and have a very Merry Christmas ❄️❄️❄️📸

See you tomorrow for some more fun.

We will be there from 8:30am setting up if you would like to help.

We’ve had a few people volunteer to take playgroup over which is brilliant. If you would also like to be part of the new team and see what needs to be done, then please stay for a little chat when everyone’s gone home at 11am.

Group is back tomorrow after a little break for half term. Don’t forget your £2 as this goes towards hall hire and general running costs.

Our theme is Dragons and we will have a playdoh table where you can make a dragon or maybe a little monster!

We are still on the look out for a few more helpers to keep playgroup open. If you are interested then we will be there at 8:30am to setup if you would like to see what’s involved. Or stay after to see how we close playgroup after each session (it takes 15 minutes with 3 helpers)

Don’t forget there are possible roadworks down Crowborough Hill and along Western Road.

Playgroup will be back open on Monday 9th May 2022.

We have decided to stay closed on Monday 25th April as Rotherfield Players are using most of the hall for their audience seating and production. Monday the 2nd May is a bank holiday, so we will be back open the following Monday.

If you need your playgroup fix! Then here is a list of other amazing playgroups in the local area. https://www.crowboroughfamilies.co.uk/post/baby-toddler-groups

It’s official - WE CAN OPEN!

The Village hall can now officially open from Monday 17th May, so that also means we can too 🙌

I’ve just checked the Government website and not a lot has changed for us. So here is the final info about how we can safely open playgroup.

• We have a limit of only 15 adults (not counting children under five years old and session leaders)

• You must pre-book your space via the link which will be posted on the Rotherfield Baby & Toddler page on Friday 14th May at 10am

• Please don’t come if you are experiencing any Covid symptoms, tested positive in the two weeks before sessions or feeling generally poorly. We need to keep everyone safe and well

• Sessions are £2.00 per family booking (this money goes to hall fees, cleaning materials and insurance) and this is payable on the morning in cash (just pop it in the tin)

• Sessions are 9:30-11:00am

• If you can’t make the session you have booked, then please message the page so we can offer your space to someone else.

• There is free parking outside the hall in the car park (I would arrive after 9:15 as Rotherfield primary school & Pre-school is in the same area and it’s busy before then)

• Everyone will be required to sign in using the Governments Track and Trace system

• Masks must be worn inside the hall (adults only and excludes those exempt)

• Social distancing must be maintained at all times

• There will be no refreshments or snacks available as the kitchen will remain closed for now, but you’re welcome to bring your own.

• Each session is based around a theme starting with The Very Hungry Caterpillar on the 17th May. A book, craft and play zone will be dedicated to the chosen theme each week - let’s have some fun!

• There will be a dedicated baby area

• Please also feel free to book a space even if your baby normally naps around the session time. I personally know how important it is to have some adult company and make new friends

• The group is open to everyone (parents, grandparents, childminders and friends), but as we are restricted on numbers, we are kindly asking that you only attend if you are from the local area (e.g Rotherfield, Mark Cross, Eridge, Crowborough). Hopefully it won’t be long until we can open it up to the wider area and have no capacity restrictions.

• Oh and one very last important thing...we’re asking everyone to kindly help pack the toys away. We have an extra cleaning routine that needs to be included before leaving the hall, so any extra help will be embraced with a big smile! 🤗

If you have any questions pop us over a DM.

We’re very much looking forward to meeting you all.
