It’s that time again…
Packets of ranunculus are arriving, and the planning for next spring begins.
I’ve learned a lot over the years about what they need to thrive — how shelter, timing, and a little patience make all the difference. This year I’m running two successions, autumn and late winter. Some will go out in the field in raised metal beds the mice can’t climb, and others will grow in crates in the polytunnel and glasshouse on site. I might even keep a few trays at home, just as insurance.
It’s the start of what I hope will be a spring of abundant, long-stemmed ranunculus and anemones, in soft pastels, blushes, and champagne tones, chosen with spring weddings in mind.
