The Magic of South Farm’s Conker Tree 🌳

With the first day of spring just around the corner, nature is beginning to awaken beneath our beloved Conker Tree. The early signs of the season are already making their charming appearance with golden aconites peeking through the earth, delicate snowdrops swaying in the breeze, and now, the first vibrant crocuses are beginning to bloom. It’s a breathtaking sight that welcomes our lovely couples and their guests as they journey up our star-lit driveway, setting the scene for a truly special wedding day. 🌼🌷🌱

It’s incredible to think that when the Paxman family first arrived at South Farm in 1974, there were just two trees standing here. Today, we are immensely proud to have over 1,000 native hardwood trees, flourishing heritage orchards, and wildflower meadows, a testament to our love for nature and sustainability.🌱

We love watching this treasured tree transition through the seasons, providing a breathtaking backdrop for so many special wedding moments. Soon, daffodils and bluebells will join the scene, adding to the spectacular floral carpet that blooms beneath its branches!

We can’t wait to see our Kitchen Garden come to life over the coming months, bursting with vibrant colors and fresh homegrown produce! ✨

Did you know our small holding provides nearly all the vegetables, herbs, fruit, eggs, and even some of the pork for our eco-friendly wedding venue year-round? And what’s more - what isn’t cooked fresh from the garden is preserved for sauces, compotes and cordials. It really is ‘Field to Fork’ and it’s the key to our fresh, seasonal and organic wedding food.

It’s all part of our commitment to sustainability and ensuring we are minimising our environmental impact wherever we can! 🫶💚
