I recently photographed this handsome cockapoo called Thor in my studio in Royston, and he brought plenty of personality with him.

His owners are moving into a new home and wanted something special for the walls, proper portraits of the dog they absolutely adore. I love sessions like this. Our dogs are such a big part of our lives, and having something tangible to hang proudly at home just feels different to keeping photos on a phone.

I’ve shared a few favourites along with a short behind-the-scenes clip over on the blog if you’d like to see more.

And if you’ve ever thought about having your own dog photographed properly, feel free to drop me a message.

Willow & Fawn came into the studio together, and that’s exactly how this session needed to start. They’re pals in everyday life, and capturing that connection before moving on to individual portraits was just as important as any single image. Calm, simple portraits, shaped around their personalities rather than forcing anything.

I’ve shared a little more about this Border Terrier session, from backdrop choices to why these portraits matter so much, over on my new blog post.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t quite believe it’s 2026 already.

A new year always feels like a bit of a reset. Getting things organised, dusting off the to-do list, and thinking about how we present ourselves and our work going forward.

So this is just a gentle reminder that your headshot, and how you present your personal brand, does matter. It’s often the first thing people see, whether that’s on LinkedIn, a website, or an email signature.

If you’ve been meaning to update your headshot, or maybe get one done properly for the first time, now’s a great time to do it. It’s something a lot of people put off, but it really doesn’t need to be a big or stressful thing.

I run headshot sessions weekly from my studio in Royston, or if you’ve got a larger team, I can bring my studio to you.

If you’d like to chat or find out a bit more, feel free to drop me an email or send me a message on here.

Happy New Year everyone, and here’s to a great 2026.

'The Kids Are Alright' project continues.

I went along to gym to photograph a few of the young boxers. Hearing about their successes in the ring was really inspiring.

What's the project about? Portraits of kids in the wild. Out and about doing the things they're passionate about. Breaking away from the screens and endless scroll.

It's something I as a father am beginning to have to reckon with my kids. Showing the various domains that 'kids these days' inhabit when they're out getting involved with world might just inspire the next lot to look up from their screens. I take a lot of inspiration from the
