This tall spring design is completely sustainable with all stems in water.. TBH it is not as easy to achieve as the same design made with trad floral foam but will hopefully last longer and helps in a tiny way, to save the planet !
There is a new 'renewable' floral foam just out from based on plants rather than chemicals that could be a revolution for those of us wanting to do interesting floral design, as well as the populr mass country floral look that suits chickenwire mechanics so well. 😉
My leisure classes this week did really well with this tall arrangement. Look out for their pics on my stories feed coming soon!

This weekend is a good one for engaged couples🥂, as two venues local to me, that I know really well (😁❤!), are having a wedding open day and . If you are looking for a charming local venue then give them a visit!
Pre-booking preferred directly with the venue, but they will take keen turn ups on the day.
I won't be there this time ☹️, but some of my leaflets will be!

😁I enjoyed looking back over Verdila flowers 2024 when making this short highlights video! I had forgotten the amazing variety of lovely weddings I had the honour of creating over the year.. different colours, themes and styles but all such fun to plan, set up and deliver. My bride jumping for joy on receiving her wedding flowers was also a lovely memory plus those beautiful smiles and lovely thankyous! Actually, looking to 2025 I have some availability for weddings especially in August 20205 so get in touch!
My lovely keen flowerlovers at Letchworth Educational Settlement and made some fab designs just using mainly supermarket style flowers with foliage.
2024 saw me make quite a few country style, funeral tribute designs. Increasingly sustainable and completely recyclable tributes must be the way forward rather than all those foam letters ( although they are still popular!).
Just before Christmas it was full steam ahead with festive workshops and private work. Over 40 handmade wreaths and 20 table centres adorned festive homes this year plus a few private creations too!
I do hope you have had a Merry Christmas and look forward to what 2025 may bring.
P>S> On a personal note I am now a Grandma to Theo born in October, so especially, am looking forward to 'grandma time' with family. New beginnings.
I am also hoping to have a bit more time for personal floral creations.. so watch this space!

It is not often a bride jumps for joy on seeing her flowers ! But I was so pleased that these brought such happiness to a big day. 😁Such great photos of S&D's autumn wedding at Melbourn church and c/o S and Emma Lane photos.
Black dresses for the bridesmaids and formal attire for the men with complementary flowers in red, burgundy wine and vintage pinks. The cute bridesmaids had baskets of fresh rose petals for throwing and I dressed the church with flowers with chiffon trailing pew ends and rose petals along the side of the aisle ( see highlights petals to pewends).

Woodland burial flowers need to be completely sustainable and biodegradable. Click through to see the base I used for this design.Totally compostable.
The choice of colours for this design reflected a great love of West Ham football club and the style is natural for a country tribute.

Don't you love a lemon drizzle cake? I was asked to incorporate a love of this cake through choice of tribute flowers to make a lasting memory. I used sunflowers as they are bolder than roses for a male relative along with a blend of yellows and included a few paler gladiolus at the top, like the icing drizzled on the cake. The second tribute was complimentary to this but with more colour from the beautiful blue cornflowers plus the copper beech leaves enhanced the natural feel for this eco tribute that was going to be left in the woodland site at Arbury. You often get brown edges to a cake so I thought these leaves also fitted well with our theme.

Autumnal feel, golden party flowers featuring of course, the cheerful sunflower. You can get them in different sizes and colours nowadays, with added brown streaks and goldy oranges which adds to their usefulness. Luckily we had a weather window for this event with rain each side of the weekend but a lovely balmy Saturday and Sunday when it mattered!

I will get to the anemone flower in a mo but first, I wanted to tell you that I tried out my heated gloves ( Christmas pressie 😁) in the recent frosty freeze... and they worked! I am just so happy to be making flowers for several funerals this month, (gloves and layers at the ready!). Adding my country style twist, reflecting a joy of the garden and nature. January is also the month for some wedding prep. ( in the warm ! ). I am trying to sort my bridal photos so they are easier to show prospective couples, but it takes a lot of sorting and sifting! I so love it when I get official wedding photos.They help future couples see the flowers more clearly. So, back to the white cut flower anemones in my pic. They are a true sign that spring is just round the corner when they become available. A slightly fickle flower to open plus their stems are not that strong, but, once happy in your vase or design, they will last ages.
