I wrote a card in memory of my grandad and thought of all the other families I have had the honour of supporting this year while at Rainsbrook Crematorium today. I hope all families facing their first Christmas without a special person have been supported by their community of family and friends.

Today we celebrated you for all the fun, creativity and kindness you bought us. We surrounded you with the things you loved, including flowers made from Lego and remembered you through your amazing pieces of arts. We reflected on your love of Sonic and your trips to immerse yourself in nature with your mum. You're missed as a "funcle", son, brother and friend.

It was an honour to share your goodbye.

The privilege of being invited to support people in saying goodbye is something I don't take for granted. I work with some wonderful funeral directors who take great time and care to match me to their families and have also been approached personally in some cases.

Saying goodbye can be tricky, but it can also be beautiful with moments of laughter amongst the tears. I am so proud to be part of a wonderful community of Funeral Celebrants on this very first Funeral Celebrant Day.

☀️Take me back to beautiful summer weddings.☀️

Three of my couples had outdoor ceremonies this year. Only one of my couples had to revert to "Plan B" as our wedding is a little unpredictable.

I love outdoor ceremonies. I loved this one in particular as it was at one of my favourite venues , I had the pleasure of working with and using live music in a ceremony for the first time.
