What a crazy bank holiday weekend!

We have had rain, crazy wind and gorgeous sunshine.... got to love the British summer.

Huge thanks to for this year's event, it's always a highlight for me. So many amazing scarecrows, live music, entertainment and I got to spend it with many of my fabulous small business friends.

Today I was at the Tank, truck and firepower show in Dunchurch. Something completely different for me and hopefully next year I will hopefully get to explore it properly.

Bank hoilday weekend events....

Saturday and Sunday I will be at Brinklow scarecrow festival. It's held every 2 years and always a fabulous event. Saturday is a dog show and Sunday classic cars and a RAF flyover.

Monday I will be at tanks, trucks and firepower show in Dunchurch, Rugby. It's my first time at the event so I'm really looking forward to it. You can purchase tickets from their website.

Both very local events for me this weekend which is a bonus.

Hopefully see you at one of the events.

Birthday trip... Mark surprised me with a early birthday trip to York so obviously the first place to visit was

Our tour guide was fabulous and was full of interesting facts... did you know the kit kat factory makes between 3.5-4 million bars PER DAY!

Really importive guide, eaten loads of gorgeous chocolate and even decorated our own lollies.

I can't even get away from the day job on holiday... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

This weekend I will be at 2 new events for me which is very exciting.

Saturday I will be at Cadeby Fete and Sunday I will be at Kenilworth Livestock show.

I will have plenty of sweets with me including freeze dried. I have the jolly ranchers back in stock but be quick they always sell out super quickly!

Weather is looking good aswell ☀️

I'm now up to date with orders, I'm so sorry for the delay but the heatwave caused huge issues and actually brought me to tears.

Tomorrow I will be at Dassett county show 12pm until 4pm.

Dog show, tug of war competition, fun fair rides, food, bar and stalls.

Going to be a fabulous event and it's FREE!

I will be there with my sweet trailer and a huge selection of sweets including freeze dried sweets. I'm stall 6&7.

So apparently Twix has been voted UK's number 1 chocolate bar and frys Turkish delight is the worst!

My mum hates chocolate (weird I know) but she will eat a Turkish delight.

I love a gold bar or a twix. Mark will choose a double decker or a boost. My neices and nephew will take anything, they ain't fussy 🤣

3 years since I traded at my very first market... Spon street in Coventry.

Since then it's been a huge learning curve, I have met so many amazing traders who are now my friends. We are all a close knit community and stick together, we cry and laugh together! Without many of my fabulous small business friends I don't think my business would still be here tbh.

I have wanted to give up a few times, being self employed is super tough. No guarante of money, really long hours, no social life and the British weather is a huge factor but I do each market with a smile on face (most of the time) specially if I have a friend next to me.

I'm extremely lucky to have such a supportive husband, family and friends. My friends even help me on stalls, packing chocolate and generally being my cheerleader so THANK YOU.

A huge thank you to all my customers and followers, you mean everything to me!

Got a few exciting events this year and plans for next year. With the cost of chocolate increasing again, I need to future proof my business so hopefully I can achieve that ❤️

This Saturday I will be at Stoke Old Boys RFC, Coventry CV3 2DG between 12pm and 6pm.

Free entry, lots of stalls selling goods and food, ice cream truck, raffle, tombola and a DJ playing all afternoon. The bar at the club will be open and the weather forecast is good.

Please come and show your support for a great cause.

Today was my first ever paid corporate job!🍬🍭

The company hired the trailer and pick n mix sweets for their corporate fun day for their employees along with tubs of candy floss and popcorn.

They had a bar, hot food, funfair games, slit walkers and me!

The sweets and candy floss didn't last long at all and were a HUGE hit. I had a selection of vegan, gluten free and dairy free sweets so something for everyone.

My 6 year old lego obsessed nephew wanted birthday party favours for his party this weekend so it could only mean 1 thing..... lego lollies.

Everyone loves a lolly... each lollyy is handmade using the finest Belgiun chocolate, topped with sprinkles and then individually wrapped and finished with a ribbon.

🍫 Chocolate prices

This is something I have not spoken about before but today I have woken up to the news that another artisan Chocolate business is closing its doors and I fear many more will follow.

Around 80% of the world's chocolate is produced in West Africa. There is now a shortage of chocolate due to the climate, ageing trees which produce less yeild, better welfare for chocolate farmers and a disease that has damaged cropped. All of this has had a huge impact on cost.

The cost of chocolate has more than doubled and prices are set to increase again on 1st July and another possible increase in September.

As you can imagine this has had a huge impact on many businesses along with the cost of living. I try not to think about it too much or i will just cry and get upset and stressed about it.

Luckily I realised 2 years again I can't sell chocolate in the summer so I swap to selling sweets and this has definitely helped me keep my business still profitable.

Please be understanding if you see brownies, bars, cakes etc increase again from other small businesses. We can't absorb the cost as much as the big boys!

If now more than ever more important to support small local businesses, use us or lose us.

I will be releasing my thank you teacher range next week... handmade chocolate bars, lollies and also sweet boxes.

The chocolate bars are always a popular treat, I appreciate many children have more than 1 teacher so I'm going to keep the cost as low as possible. I'm hoping everything will be £6 or less. The cost of chocolate is increasing again in July!

They will be available for postal, local delivery and collection.

I'm home after 2 weeks in Boa Vista, Cape Verde. The island is absolutely breathtaking, white sand and clear blue water. There is literally nothing around for miles apart from donkeys, goats, cows and a few horses.

I went with my friend of 25 years for early birthday celebrations. We saw dolphins, watched the sunset, chatted about nothing, had a few cocktails, listened to the waves and generally relaxed.

I still find it hard to switch off completely but I do try my hardest. I was very lucky that my husband Mark did 2 events for me while I was away and posted orders for me.

3 events this weekend and I'm looking forward to showing off my tan. It's a tad cold though 🤣

Hi,

I'm going on holiday on Wednesday for 2 weeks to celebrate my 40th birthday (early) I'm going with my friend Lisa, we have known each other since we were 14 years old. We never get to spend much time together anymore as life gets in the way but always there for each other.

I have listed below my events for June, Mark will be doing Nuneaton carnival and kenilworth grand show for me so please pop by and say hi to him.
