Last night The Kelly Butler Foundation was officially launched.
A HUGE thank you to all who made it successful. We are humbled by the support we have had and will shortly be announcing the total amount raised and formally thanking everyone. First we wanted to share the mission statement with you all, written by Dave Butler.
"We would all love to live in a world without Leukaemia, but until that time we are determined to make a change in the lives of families that this awful disease affects.
Whilst trying to remain mentally strong and dealing with what this ravaging illness takes from them, patients must undergo painful bone marrow aspirations in the hope of finding their perfect match.
The Kelly Butler Foundation will be there to support and comfort those people and
their families.
As with all charities and trusts, small acorns grow into mighty oak trees. So, we
are under no illusions this will take time to achieve. Over the next 12 months, Support Staffordshire will be assisting The Kelly Butler Foundation in its registration with the charity commission and start up process to help us on our way towards our first set of goals.
Our aims are:
• Provide a safe and supportive family group for those affected by Leukaemia.
• Create a helpline to support those living with Leukaemia and their families.
• Hold our first stem cell recruitment drive in our local community.
• Create our very own fundraising and development strategy to enable us to fulfil our aim and transform our acorn into a mighty oak of charities. "
