Why I call 7 - 10 days

MAGIC TIME

- At 7 days old, your newborn will have had a chance to settle in a bit, and to grow into their skin a little,
- You’ll have had a few days at home to enjoy as a family.
- Your newborn will have regained most of his/her birth weight.
- Any jaundice should have significantly improved.
- Your postpartum hormone drop will have stabilised.

Competitions are tough, it takes a lot to put your work out there, especially images you are emotionally attached to, and see how it fares among many other professional photographers.

Viewing the quality and the standard it takes to get a bronze with The BIPP, I was elevated, especially as they issued no golds, only 2 silvers, and 25 bronzes.

It's a good push in motivation to keep pushing towards that goal!

CONSIDERING BOOKING A NEWBORN SESSION
Just to answer a few frequently asked questions

- ABSOLUTELY YES, I can include siblings in your newborn session, we can add parents too!! I love being asked! ❤️

- My studio is based in Ruthin, Nr Mold, Flintshire ❤️

- I aim to start newborn sessions from 11am and last between 2-3 hours, meaning we aren't rushed towards the end of the day ❤️

- I ask for a £40 booking fee to secure your slot, which is refundable against your package, ensuring your available dates are ready for you ❤️

- You don't need outfits, I use wraps, materials and little handmade outfits and pose in a way we don't need them.

5 weeks of perfection

When is the best time to book my Newborn session, should I leave it until our little one arrives? ..........

Most of our clients book just after their 20-week scan. This ensures their due date is scheduled in my diary, to ensure availability whilst your baby is still sleepy and tiny for curling. Photographing newborns within the first 14 days makes posing so much easier as they aren't too aware of us moving and posing while they enjoy sleep, this doesn't mean older babies are impossible just may take us a little more time ..........

If your little one has already arrived ...... then give me a message and I will check my availability, our pre-booked newborns may not have arrived just yet ......

A newborn mini-session is a great way to document your newborn if you’re looking to capture those teeny newborn features without wanting all the bells and whistles of the full newborn session.

The mini session is one hour in length and includes wrapped images, the diaper stays on so that I can move faster and not worry about the inevitable messes that happen when you take a diaper off a newborn!!! 🤣 I use a smaller variety of backdrops, wraps and props (usually two set-ups) which yields between five to ten fully edited digital images for gallery viewing.

I do ask that you plan to feed your baby either right before you leave the house – if you live within 15 minutes of the studio – OR plan to arrive early and feed your baby before the session starts so that we can utilise the entire hour for posing and imagery. Otherwise, the end result could be smaller ❤️

This little beauty at 9 weeks did amazingly for her newborn mini-session, I love this age ......... you never know what gallery you will achieve, awake or sleepy ........

and she rocked both!
