Customer Notice: I have made the decision not to open tomorrow Sunday 14th, my espresso machine has a couple of issues which made service really difficult today. New parts are on order and a service is being booked in. I hope to be back as usual on Wednesday.

I am on summer hours now the clocks have changed…

Update: all done now and open all the way through…

Firestone Copse Road is closed from Havenstreet to the car park entrance, this is for pot hole repairs and should hopefully be open again by lunchtime…
I’m here and set up as usual and you can get here from either Binstead or Wootton…

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY LOVELY CUSTOMERS!

It’s not the best start though, yesterday the van went in for an MOT and failed 😞… it’s having work finished today and I’m not sure what time I’ll get it back.

So I won’t be at Firestone today unfortunately but should be back as usual from 9am tomorrow…

The road to Firestone is currently closed at the Havenstreet end. Access to the woods via Wootton or Binstead should be fully open.
The works should have been finished yesterday but there have been a few problems and are now hoping to be completed sometime next week.
I know how much of an inconvenience this is, especially trying to run a business, so thank you to everyone who is still making the trip down here to walk the dogs and to support a local business.

Road open from Havenstreet end again today, not sure on Wootton end as I don’t drive that way.

It’s a bit windy but so far a nice morning for a walk in the woods with a hot drink to clear up any foggy heads from Saturday night.

UPDATE ON ROAD CLOSURE:

Firestone Copse Rd is now closed at Havenstreet end but you can still access the woods from either Wootton or Binstead, there a couple of road closed signs but you can drive round them and make it to the woods. I’m here until 3pm ☕️

INFORMATION REGARDING CLOSURE OF FIRESTONE COPSE ROAD:

Right, so Firestone Copse Rd is currently marked as closed, this is due to works by WightFibre and is set to be in place until November 24th.
I spoke to WightFibre about this when I found out a few weeks ago and they have assured me that there will always be access into the car park at Firestone Copse.
Their plans for work are starting at Wootton Bridge end of the road and they will be moving along in stages up to the junction at Havenstreet over the next few weeks.
I have been down today just to check everything out and can confirm that you can access the woods from Havenstreet or from Newnham Lane, Binstead.
The current road closure is from Wootton Bridge along to Newnham Lane.
I think I’ve worded that so that it makes sense but please let me know if I’ve added to any confusion…

So I will be out as usual tomorrow, serving Island Roasted Coffee and homemade flapjack. The chocolate orange flapjacks were very popular over the weekend so I’m about to bake another batch. Vegan and gluten free but still super tasty…

FIXED… thankfully someone has lent me an inverter!!! I’m heading out now for a few hours, hopefully with no more problems 🤞🤞I know the weather is rubbish again but it would be great to see some of you ☕️

It’s all gone wrong 😔 I was all set to leave for work, I switched power over to my battery and inverter and something popped! Now I can’t get any power to anything. I’ve checked the fuses and all the other obvious bits but no luck. As it’s the weekend there’s nowhere open or anyone to help me out. I’m so sorry to let you all down, I was looking forward to getting back out and I have baked a load of flapjack too! I’ll keep you updated, please let me know if you think you can help out.

Hey everybody, I’m back from my trip to France, I had a great time with family doing all the tourist stuff and consuming excessive amounts of food, cheese and wine.

Apparently it’s been pretty wet over here…

I was hoping to be back at Firestone from tomorrow, November 1st. I’ve been keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and I’m really not sure it’s going to be a good idea. So unfortunately I’m making the not so tough decision to take an extra few days off. The idea of standing out in high winds and heavy rain isn’t particularly appealing as I’m sure you all understand and I’d be surprised if anyone actually comes out for a walk.

The weekend is looking a bit more hopeful, so I’ll be back as usual on Saturday and Sunday 9:00 - 15:00, I might even bake some flapjacks…

Very thankful to Wight Tyres on Ryde industrial estate, who sorted the van out this morning before work. No booking, but a fast, friendly and professional service, even a complementary coffee while I waited!

Now out at Firestone as usual until 5pm 😀👍🛞☕️

Brewing up at Firestone Wednesday Thursday and Friday this week, 9am -5pm.

I won’t be here this weekend as I’ve signed up for the IOW Ultra Challenge, a 66 mile continuous walk around the Islands coast path over Saturday and Sunday.

Wish me luck, think I’m going to need it!

Well, after another couple of days hiking the South Downs I’m over half way, think about 60 miles out of 100. Yesterday was a bit tough as it was meant to be a short day (only 12 miles) but the campsite I was hoping to stay at is no longer a campsite or was closed in any case, so I had to push on for another 6 miles to the next town to find somewhere to stay. I suppose the upside is that I only had 8 miles today which was pretty easy. I’m currently resting up in the pub/hotel where I’m staying tonight. A hot shower was amazing and I’m looking forward to eating a mountain of food this evening. The views from the downs are incredible and could even see our island off in the distance. 17 miles tomorrow, 14 on Saturday and 11 on Sunday to get me to Eastbourne…

Morning, I probably should have posted something a bit sooner than this, but just to say I’m taking this week off. I’m currently trekking the across the South Downs, from Wi******er to Eastbourne, 35 miles done so far and another 65 miles to go, I should finish on Sunday and be back at Firestone as usual next Wednesday.
