Showcasing 2024 Highlights with Event Manager, Ellen Burgess

From heatwaves to hurricanes, 2024 was a year of challenges and unforgettable moments for Ellen Burgess, one of our brilliant Event Managers. Here’s what she shared about her standout experiences:

On Her 2024 Highlight:

“2024 was all about navigating the unexpected—from electricity surges in Edinburgh that disrupted our conference AV to last-minute meeting room changes due to faulty air conditioning in Cancun and Paris. Regardless of the unforeseen challenges though, we managed to deliver exceptional events by leaning on teamwork and our global network of trusted suppliers.

Last year’s conferences and events gave both delegates and me some amazing experiences that included witnessing the Northern Lights at our Edinburgh event and a spectacular closing dinner at Barnbougle Castle featuring a full pipe and drum band; assisting conservationists in Cancun during turtle nesting season and swimming with sea turtles during a snorkelling social; and making the most of the Paris heatwave with stunning outdoor receptions and strolls through the city’s parks. Miami, of course, brought sunshine, beach Olympics, and plenty of laughs.

It’s genuinely a privilege to be part of a team creating these incredibly special experiences - it makes all the planning and plate-spinning totally worth it.”

Looking Ahead to 2025:

“I’m very excited to collaborate with our newer team members this year, blending fresh perspectives with the high standards Dynamic Events is known for. Personally, I’m looking forward to working on events in San Diego and London—two cities I know well and can’t wait to showcase with unique venues and programmes.”

Olivia's top 2024 highlight and what's new for 2025 -

Olivia is such an essential part of the Dynamic Events team in terms of both her talent and her sparkling personality - Whether she's spinning plates pulling together large-scale conferences for clients or dressing in an inflatable unicorn costume bring an extra dose of joy to team building day.

So we were very keen to discover the 2024 moment Olivia had to spotlight, as well as what she was most excited about in 2025.
Here's what she had to say -

"I ran three events in 2024 and managed to incorporate a boat in every one (beats a coach every time!). In Riga, delegates enjoyed a networking event whilst on a canal boat tour, clients cruised through the Stockholm archipelago on a private boat to reach their dinner venue and we arranged an exclusive dinner aboard a sailboat, gliding along the coast of Singapore and Sentosa Island. On the last day of this event, we also organised a 10-man rigger canoe race for all the delegates out on the ocean whilst spectators cheered on the teams from the shoreline."

"It's not just that I love a boat - I do - but it's so often the best way to see the sites and a great setting for networking."

Looking Ahead to 2025:

"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to manage events in places I've not worked in before. This is always exciting because I don't have the burden of pre-conceived ideas, allowing me and the team to really get creative. Plus there's the rush you get from uncovering those unique experiences that really enhance a conference!"

Oh - and I don't want to risk spoiling any surprises, but I think encouraging friendly competition between delegates will be a theme this year!"

Saffron's top 2024 highlight and what's new for 2025 -

As we dive into 2025, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the incredible work our team accomplished last year and share what we’re most excited about for the months ahead. Here’s what our Events Coordinator, Saffron, had to say:

On Her 2024 Highlight:

“The highlight of 2024 was undoubtedly the Singapore conference—a six-day event that stands as the largest, most complex, project I've undertaken to date. Coordinating a full schedule that included nightly dinners and multiple concurrent social programs presented many logistical complexities. However, Liv and I worked amazingly as a team to deliver an exceptional event for multi-national attendees with highly interactive sessions and opportunities for delegates to further develop relationships during social events."

"We worked as a team to ensure all details were executed to the highest standard and the attendees' feedback was so positive it made all the effort worthwhile."

Looking Ahead to 2025:

“I'm particularly excited about taking on increased responsibilities for the Philadelphia and London events this year. Philly offers a vibrant and dynamic backdrop and we have some great ideas for the programme which will enable the attendees to connect and enhance business relations. One of the dinners will be taking place at Reading Terminal Market and we're also taking them to a Phillies game!”

A special congratulations to Saffron on moving into her new exciting role as Event Coordinator too. We're very fortunate to have her continue to bring her passion and expertise to our client events this year.

The perfect month to host an event in Berlin is …🥁🥁🥁

November! 📅

Berlin is an exciting city in which to host an event. With a wealth of history and a unique energy, it has much to offer. It’s also highly accessible, especially from Europe where it’s often possible to travel by train rather than plane.

Whilst we love Berlin in September - usually crisp, but still a little warm and sunny - November is a particularly good month to encourage delegates to the city for a business event.

This November, we hosted a large conference in Berlin. The markets had just started to open, there were warm drinks being served outdoors and the holiday spirit was emerging. 🎄

In December, Berlin is a massive tourist draw and, though there is much to entertain visitors, it can be very busy!

In November though, delegates will get much of the seasonal magic just before the Christmas market tourists descend - making it a magic time to experience a corporate event in the German capital. ❄️

Dynamic Event Insight 💡

Every event schedule is different. Typically though, coffee/tea breaks between conference sessions are 10-15 minutes. ☕

Yet, at a recent event we organised for a large professional membership organisation, these refreshment breaks had been extended to half an hour and this is what we observed -

1. With the pressure off to use facilities and speedily find drinks and snacks, the atmosphere was more relaxed but also more positive 😊

2. Delegates found time to talk to one another, often discussing the workshop or seminar they’d just been in and then heading to the next one together 🤝

3. These longer breaks gave attendees ample time to transition between workshops, connect with others, and manage personal needs, leading to higher attendance at each session 👏

Furthermore, with additional time to digest information, ideas, and learnings, delegates appeared to reflect and retain more, as noticed in the sharing sessions at the end of each day. 🙋 🙋‍♂️ 🙋‍♀️

Of course, padding the schedule like this may mean doing less or opting for a longer conference overall. However, if attendees benefit more from the overall event experience, then it may be well worth considering. 🤔

This November, we had the privilege of organising Nexia’s Annual Conference in the vibrant city of Singapore, bringing together delegates from around the world for an unforgettable experience. We curated a dynamic program that balanced productive board meetings and networking opportunities with a variety of cultural and leisure activities.

Highlights included a stunning banquet at the enchanting Chijmes Hall and a visit to the iconic Raffles Hotel. To foster meaningful connections, we arranged a sunset dinner cruise aboard Asia’s only luxury tall ship, creating a perfect setting for relaxed conversations against the backdrop of Sentosa Island’s coastline.

As specialists in the APAC region, we were able to select a diverse range of experiences, including a tour of Chinatown, a tea blending workshop, a Mahjong Masterclass, and golfing at an exclusive carbon-neutral club.

Delegates also marvelled at the beauty of Gardens by the Bay and enjoyed a more relaxed style of a beachside networking event, complete with watersports, a BBQ, and a lively DJ set to celebrate the conference’s close.

When devising events for membership organisations, it’s essential to provide varied networking and learning opportunities to suit a wide range of delegates. To ensure that all members are comfortable, motivated and inspired to share knowledge and build relationships. We do this by scrutinising every decision, considering individual preferences and creating an event that is truly dynamic.

We had a wonderful time planning and executing our Miami Autumn 2024 conference event for the International Lawyers Network.

The schedule sported a dynamic business programme that included member spotlights, keynote speakers, seminars, panel discussions, breakout sessions and smaller discussion groups. This came interspersed with a varied social programme that made the most of the Miami sunshine. From sunrise yoga to a gala dinner at Palms House and boat cruises to walking tours, we were thrilled to create some unforgettable experiences for the ILN and see delegates embrace the Miami lifestyle, if only for a long weekend.

Could your next corporate event be in Philadelphia? 🏙️

Event Manager, Olivia, bounced back into the office after her Philadelphia site visit, an absolute bundle of glee! 😄

Now, it’s not unlike Liv to be enthusiastic, but she was on such a high after her experience in Philly that we had to find out what made the city so special.

“I’m hugely excited to do a conference in Philadelphia,” she told us. “It’s full of history, has a great energy, and there’s going to be so much to do—so many activities, so many places to visit—my only issue is being totally spoiled for choice.”

During the debrief, we learned a lot about Philadelphia—the food, the sites, the cultural experiences, the venues—and we believe Philly is a city poised to be the next great destination for bringing people together to connect, learn, and thrive. Perhaps even a city that could rival top U.S. event destinations like New York. 🗽

We just had the opportunity to listen to an incredibly engaging talk at Connect on Building A Greener Future (making events more sustainable) featuring our very own, 🌍.

Jade was part of a panel discussion that delved into:

- Where the events industry is in its sustainability journey ♻️
- How we can promote the importance of sustainable choices to partners and clients 🤝
- Overcoming the cost barrier 💸

This week we kicked off our conference season and we couldn’t have asked for a better start.

On Monday, Dynamic Conferences & Events supported Karina Robinson with the Fourth The City Quantum and AI Summit which was held at Mansion House.

Karina curated an incredible agenda that was jam-packed with numerous experts in the field of Quantum and AI. It was an great event to be a part of again, and we're so pleased to hear that our client and those involved had such a great experience.

This September Liv set off for stunning Singapore to conduct a final site visit before our client's annual global conference in November.

Taking full advantage of the amazing venues and landmarks in Singapore, we're hosting our welcome dinner at Chijmes (picture two), a former Catholic convent and now a heritage building ideally placed in Singapore's central business district. We'll also be enjoying another dinner onboard luxury tall ship, the Royal Albatross (meet cruise cat Captain Willie - picture five).

The breathtaking images in pictures one and four are from Gardens by the Bay - one of the most sensational nature spaces we've explored amid any city where we've hosted business events.
