Remembering the incredible crockery and tablescapes of this shoot by - makers of the world’s finest hand painted wallpaper

Our elegant Georgian-era ballroom was redesigned by who chose their ‘St. Laurent’ chinoiserie design.

Hand-painted on a shell pink ground, this wallpaper depicts pairs of peacocks and doves amongst a dense garden of blooming peony, prunus, camellia and chrysanthemum.

We absolutely adore these oyster shells repurposed into place names for the wonderful wedding of Sam & Emily earlier this month.

Not only do they look gorgeous, they’re also performing a useful function and they were no doubt a beautiful momento for many guests to take home with them.

There is something about a handmade detail like this that really elevates a table setting, don’t you think?

“Our wedding stay and meal was at , a 16th-century coaching inn thoughtfully renovated and creatively reimagined as a luxurious retreat in the centre of 🤎

Undoubtedly, our first choice for where we would stay in Rye was The George in Rye, and by a serendipitous encounter at where we stayed prior, when visiting to view the Rye Town Hall; the wonderful receptionist told us to to get in touch with Anna Campanella, Events & Weddings Sales Manager, at The George in Rye.

We initially only thought to meet Anna to ask her for recommendations of wedding suppliers based in and around Rye. Little did we know that was not only going to be where we stayed for the wedding but also be a fitting venue for a small and intimate meal with our families.

Anna truly understood what we wanted for our wedding; right from our first interaction, she listened, empathised, and treated us with so much warmth and kindness. Thank You, from the bottom of our hearts.”

“We celebrated our wedding at The George on 20 June and it exceeded all our expectations.. ..We had a small wedding with 20 guests and had a gorgeous meal in the long room, which looked beautiful with stunning flowers by Alex Ball. We also had use of the beautiful green room. The whole day was such a magical experience with such attention to detail. We were all made to feel so special. I can not write this review without mentioning Anna and her husband Elton. Anna is a superstar. Every detail was thought of, nothing was too much trouble, and she was a true saviour when she helped me into my dress! The bridal suite was beautiful. What an amazing room to get ready in. Last week The George in Rye family had an 80th birthday party and a 50th birthday party to celebrate.. and boy did we celebrate! The planets aligned and in the end we had 107 family and friends in attendance for drinks in The Courtyard and Lunch in The Ballroom. Everyone was dressed up in their finery with speeches going on for TWO hours! 😱🤩😆 Such a joyful day - we felt very blessed.
