Lovely to have wedding flowers with no pandemic restrictions, although the flower consultation last year was via Zoom, so the first face to face meeting with the lovely bride was when delivering the flowers on Saturday!

Not only were the peonies beautiful their scent, along with the freesias, made the bouquet smell divine.

Wishing the bride and groom a long and happy life together. Have fun!

What better joy than a new born baby?! It was wonderful to deliver these flowers to a delighted first time Mum and Dad today! Notice the flowers made of scratch mitts, socks and face cloths that I've tucked amongst the gorgeous seasonal flowers and foliage.

Simplicity to see the beauty of the flowers is often the best! A willow heart, thank you Michelle Wisbey for the willow supply, and wonderful lily of the valley picked from the garden. A Happy 70th Birthday to a friend whose favourite flower is lily of the valley. The scent was amazing too!

Such a lovely idea by a loving husband whose wife spent her last 5 weeks in a hospice. A week on and the funeral flowers I did will have been enjoyed by the wonderful staff at the Arthur Rank hospice, Addenbrookes rather than left at the crematorium.

I covered the stems of the 3 hand ties, with hessian bags I had made and secured with a wire edged floral ribbon, masking the moist wadding and plastic bag I had put over the stems to keep the flowers as fresh as possible.

The 3 hand ties overlapping and lying in a line produced a long beautiful tribute. After the service they were easily transported, the scent filling the car, and given as thank you bouquets to the hospice staff.

One of the positive outcomes of this lockdown period is the time it gives us for creativity and to really appreciate the emergence of beautiful spring flowers in the garden.

1. My inspiration! 2 air bricks unearthed while gardening the other day!

2. I stuck felt on the base of the cleaned up brick to protect furniture, inserted floral tubes in each hole and filled them with water using a plastic dispensing bottle (alternatively use a gravy basting pipette or watering can).

3. The finished design using stems of conditioned spring flowers and foliage picked from the garden.

As simple as that and no floral foam! Includes: Hellebores, acid green Euphorbia, Anemone, Brunnera macrophylla, Exochorda macrantha, contorted hazel, Sarcoccoca.

Challenge accepted and loved by the recipients! Using the Diamond Anniversary Couple's wooden sculpture, (taken by their daughter on pretence for her son's tech project!), an all around design interwoven through and around the sculpture using some wonderful plant material including red twisted willow and the newly available cut flower, Kalanchoe diamond champagne! Have you spotted the 'diamonds'? Congratulations to the happy couple, 60 years, amazing!
