The show opens to public at 10.00am.
Arrival & Parking

Look out for our signs on the road between Heligan Gardens and Gorran. TURN towards St Ewe and follow signs. Enter the parking field through the gate at the start of the village, BE CAREFUL 2 WAY TRAFFIC. Please park as directed. Once parked please make your way to the opposite corner of the field (flagged) from where you drove in and proceed to the ticket gate. Please take care, marshalls will guide you. Entry is £8 under16’s are free. We prefer cash as internet signals are poor. Dog show entry forms are available at the gate and raffle tickets just after you come in.

We have very limited Disabled parking on the yard in front of the hall, Consider dropping off at the hall and cars can then return to the parking field.

Departing the show
Make your way carefully back to your vehicle and exit the parking field from the entrance you came in through. BE CAREFUL 2 WAY TRAFFIC. Turn RIGHT and you will arrive at the junction with the Gorran Road. Left to St Austell, Mevagissey and Truro. Right to Gorran.
Help us
Please use these directions. Avoid the Lanuah Lane and the village. This will reduce two way traffic on the narrow lanes and increase your safety.
The parking field is stubble and will be replanted after the show. DO NOT drop litter or allow your dog to foul on the field (bag it and bin it at the show). Dogs MUST be on short leads. We advise wearing sensible footwear as you will be walking on fields and grass. THANK YOU

Less than 2 weeks to go, been a bit quiet on Facebook, but rest assured the committee have been organising and planning behind the scenes for weeks now. Let's get the rain and mizzle over and done with in time for the 18th!!

Wow, oh my goodness, it is likely that this will be the last Country Fair as we know it and for all those of you who have and are helping we want this last show to be the best ever and ask that everyone joins us in whatever way you can, helping, contributing and attending to make it a great day for all.
It’s 30 years since the idea for a fair in St Ewe was formulated and this will be the 29th year of the fair. It is looking like that this will be the last Country Fair in its current format. There are many reasons for this, costs, insurances, parking, and many others are all making the show less viable. It is sad that this is so but things move on.
The show is getting close now and we will be posting updates on Facebook in the lead up. Details of competitions are already available.
We’re happy to hear from you via Messenger or on our new email [email protected] if you can help out, are interested in having a stall, there are a few spaces left for craft and homemade wares.
Keep an eye on Facebook for updates.

We hope this year’s date is in your diary!
We have favourite contributors lined up to join us again; Birds of Prey, Heavy Horses, Gun Dogs, Sheep Dogs, etc. We had a terrific collection of vintage tractors last year and hope to welcome them again. Owners with any type of vintage vehicle are welcome to join us, drop us an email if interested. Chef Steve will be demonstrating his skills once again and no doubt Helen will conjure up some fun categories for the ever popular Dog Show. Gorran School parents are working on running some activities for youngsters and we should hear more from them soon.
This year’s Horticultural Schedules will be posted on facebook soon but assume categories are as last year (there is schedule already on facebook from last year).
Photographic competition themes are as follows; Something Black and White, A Moment to Savour, A Show Stopping Portrait, The Highlight of My Year, Old Machinery, A Single Bloom and the children’s theme is New Life.
Emma is still happy to accept stallholders and has sent out forms to our regulars. You can contact her via Messenger or on our new email [email protected]
If you would like to contribute to the show with something of particular interest we’d be very happy to hear from you. Just use the above email.
More updates next month.

Many, many thanks for all your help this morning. As the weather was good and we had enough helpers we have managed to all the marquess down . If you were planning on turning up at 4.00pm you can put your feet up instead! Thank you everyone.

We have a couple of items of lost property: a pair of prescription glasses and a wallet. If you are the owner of either of these items, please message us and we will arrange for their safe return.

After a brilliant show today, we now start the main clear down tomorrow (Monday) morning from 10.00am onwards. Later in the day we will also need to get a large team (about 20 people) to dismantle the very large horticulture tent from 4.00pm onwards. If you can help in any way, you would be most welcome. Thank you.

17/08/2023

Thank to all of you who came along today to help erect the marquees. The weather is not looking very good for tomorrow (Friday) but we are going up at 10.00am to do a bit more setting up and if you are at a loose end and available for a couple of hours then your help will be appreciated. Saturday from 10.00 is the main set up day when we will need all the help we can get. We are looking forward to seeing you!

17/08/2023

HELP NEEDED FOR SETTING UP MARQUEES FOR THE FAIR (AND TAKING DOWN AGAIN AFTERWARDS)

We need a lot of volunteers to help with putting up the marquees before the Country Fair and to take them down again after the Fair. Our large Jubilee Marquee needs about 20 people to erect plus others to help put up the other smaller marquees.

The plan is to lay out tent poles, etc. during the afternoon (1.00pm onwards) of Thursday 17th. Then, to erect the Jubilee marquee (and others if possible) early evening (4.30pm onwards) so that we can get as many ‘after work’ helpers as possible. Please come and help if you can and recruit more people.

The main marquee will be put up by the Tent Company on Thursday when we will also be sorting other stuff and we will finish setting up on Friday/Saturday. Please help if you are free from 10.00am on these days.

Our tents need to come down on the Monday. We will clear them during the day and take down as above early evening – so we will need plenty of help again – put the word out please!!! The photo below is the main catering marquee that is being erected by the tent company. The Jubilee marquee (Horticultural marquee) is only a little smaller than this one, hence we need all the help we can get!
