There's something rather nice about a naming ceremony in a summer garden and I'm already chatting to Kian's parents about how we can include the natural setting in his naming ceremony.

I think we might settle on a wishing tree...how lovely for family and friends to tie personal messages on one of the trees as special music plays...

Oh yes, I can see it now... summer is on its way!

Absolutely ADORED this show about Florence Foster-Jenkins whose love of singing rather than natural talent informed her desire to perform to a wider audience. Some of whom loved her discordant warbling ...others, not so much!

Funny, moving, an absolute vocal tour de force by an irrepressible .peters

Hope Mill is one of my fave ever theatrical venues by the way...and I love that I have a supporter's plaque on the wall ( just outside the loos๐Ÿ˜‚).

Please oh please will someone one day book me to do a wedding there๐Ÿ˜. I'd be absolutely thrilled beyond words!!

Such an honour to be asked back to lead a naming ceremony for a new child in a family. And I had so much fun with Einar's family last time that I'm already looking forward to planning their second special event. But this time, it will be all about Einar!

Not only that, it will be wonderful to see how big sister is getting on since her own naming and first birthday celebration.๐Ÿ˜€

It's amazing how quickly you can get to know people when you're planning a special part of a special day together...

If you're considering a naming ceremony for your child, why not get in touch? ( Details in bio).

Such a fun planning meeting with Harriet and her family!
Harriet's naming day promises to be relaxed, informal and featuring her four year old brother who was more than happy to make contributions to our discussion. He will be making a special vow to his sister on the day...there won't be a dry eye in the house at that point, I'm guessing!
Let's hope Harriet's smile is as broad as this on the day too...I can't wait to tell her story!

Doesn't Maeve look stunning in her naming ceremony outfit! Spectacular!

And once we discovered that Maeve was the name of a famous Irish queen from ancient times, a special coronation element had to be added to her original ceremony script.

It was wonderful to see so many other children joining in with their own crowns and bows before a rousing rendition of 'Happy Birthday to You" in honour of her majesty's first birthday!

Happy Valentine's Day! And thanks to the talented person who created this wonderful postbox topper to cheer us all up on this grey February morning!

I wonder how many Valentine's Day proposals will be made today... hopefully I will get the chance to tell some of these proposal stories as a celebrant at a future wedding...

Sometimes the stories are goosebump-raisingly romantic, sometimes hilarious ( such as trying to find a gap in the unexpected passerby traffic so you can have that so-called secluded spot to yourselves) and sometimes quirky...like the substitution of a hula hoop for a ring left behind at home ...

A celebrant led ceremony allows you to tell your story in the way you would like it to be told

Fab meeting with Maeve's mum and dad. Her naming ceremony will be epic!

We threw around so many different ideas that I've been totally buzzing while writing the first draft of the ceremony script today...

Which elements will stay? Which will be changed? Will further inspiration strike?

Draft One won't be finished just in one day of course, but I'm already looking forward to what Mum and Dad will think when I send it...

One beautiful element definitely staying in is a candle lighting ritual, starting off with the unity candle Harriet and Grant first lit at their wedding... Just gorgeous!

Seasonal Greetings to All!
I hope Santa brings what you asked for!

And...if you're contemplating a special ceremony in 2025/6, why not use a bit of your holiday downtime to check out how we can work together to make dreams for your special day come true?

I do weddings, vow renewals and namings and you can discover my approach at
nickiaceremonies.co.uk. Link in bio.

Obviously one of my Christmas wishes is that there are some gorgeously romantic Yuletide proposals...and that some of these couples get in touch in the New Year.

Now, wouldn't that be fab! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Just love this US Western themed look, especially those cowboy boots teamed with the shorter length pretty bridesmaids frocks. (Mind you, being a frock and boots kinda gal, this is absolutely up my alley)!

Apart from the optics here, I like the idea of everyone being comfortable during the whole wedding day...right down to dancing the night away...I can see it now...a hoe-down in a fab barn setting. Why on earth not?

Going a bit off topic perhaps*, but Spend Spend Spend is AMAZING!!

It's the musical based on real events in the life of 1960s football pools winner Viv Nicholson whose story illustrates how winning the jackpot doesn't always guarantee happiness.

What is guaranteed, however, is that you will LOVE this heart-warming, moving and frequently hilarious show. I'm not going to wax lyrical about the quality of the music, acting/singing performances**, choreography, costumes, set and props as I'd be here all day.

Perfect festive holiday fare ( on till Jan 11).And great to see the Royal Exchange back at the top of its game!

*OK...I'm going to be honest here. My Christmas wish is to be booked for a wedding in one of my favourite Manchester theatres. It would be a dream come true! Come on, Santa, make it happen!

**Lovely to see another side to Corrie's Natasha. was phenomenal as the older Viv.

These daft bride and groom socks made me smile! They've actually got magnets in their little hands so you can "hold hands" while you're sitting next to your beloved at the wedding breakfast...

Brides in socks, though? Well, why not? If, like me, you're a big skirt and boots kinda gal, you're going to need a decent pair to get you through the day, so why not be these cuties. Available on Amazon. Other retailers also available, I expect!

Want to do justice to the fabulousness of Andy and Neil's wedding ceremony so I'm just posting this post ceremony snap of the three of us before the other pics become available.

This also gives me an opportunity to share how thrilled I was to receive a wonderful review via an unusual means. One ofu Humanist colleagues contacted

What about this tie for a bit of an alternative wedding look?

From time to time I like to share anything I stumble upon that's a bit "different".

Because my couples tend to be a bit "different" too.

Which is why they've gone for a celebrant led wedding rather than just settle for the same old same old which isn't personalised very much at all.

Anyway...back to the ties...I've posted a pic of a monochrome groom but there are some lovely multicoloured ones too ..and not just for men!

So thrilled to receive this feedback from Sammy and Josh! They've really made my day as I sit here reminiscing about their lovely ceremony deep in the Derbyshire countryside in a venue inhabited exclusively by their friends and family.

They were "wonderful" too...they gave me so much really clear detail to weave into their story and it was a total joy to see their loved ones' faces light up in recognition when those little references hit home.

So glad everyone had a great time!

So pleased I was asked to mentor new wedding celebrant Camille as she worked her way through the many challenges in the rigorous Humanist Ceremonies training regime.

She's passed with flying colours and is going to be a FABULOUS wedding celebrant!

Although Camille has completed her training, there is ongoing quality control with observation and a requirement to keep up with CPD, which applies to all of us within the Humanist network,no matter how long we've been celebrating!

So, as sets the benchmark for quality celebrant services, why not check out our website when you need the right person for your wedding, naming or funeral ceremony?

Just Google Humanists.uk, then "Find a celebrant". Simple!

And if you type "Nicki" into the search box you will find out more about my approach to all aspects of my work and how to get in touch with me.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

It looks like little Ada was worn out by her naming ceremony! She's not quite as smiley as usual in this picture!

But it was a lovely ceremony with many highlights, not least a family candle lighting and a presentation of favourite children's books by her four carefully chosen guide parents.

It's such a privilege to work with parents to help them formally welcome their children to their community of family and friends in a way which is more meaningful to them...and MORE FUN!

Jodie and Tom and Michael and Dean are celebrating their first anniversaries this week. Gosh, the last twelve months have absolutely flown by!

Delighted to hear that all are enjoying married life and have lasting memories of their wedding ceremonies.

I know for a fact I will always remember collaborating with them with great fondness.

Don't forget guys, you qualify for mates' rates for a vow renewal when you're ready!
