Bridesmaids were originally asked to be a part of the wedding to protect the bride from evil spirits.

Dressed just like the blushing bride these bridesmaids were intended to confuse evil spirits as well as those who wished to harm the bride.
So organising a hen party for a bride-to-be should be a walk in the park, right?

We don't see enough silver weddings but I'm here for it.
Silver wedding colour ideas never fail you because it's so versatile and pairs really well with many different colours, like blue, pink and purple.
Another reason why you may consider adding silver into the wedding is that it never steals the thunder of your theme colour. If you are looking for sparkling details without distracting from your main colour palette then silver makes an amazing accent.

Planning can seem like such an overwhelming task to take on. You probably have a full time job, friends to see, a partner to make time for and family to juggle too.......and then now wedding planning too!!

Take things one step at a time, make a list early on of all of the tasks to do and the things you'll need to buy and put it somewhere you can see it everyday. Tick things as you go and things won't seem so overwhelming.

There will be family members and friends/ bridesmaids who will be willing to help you with any aspects of the planning you feel stressed out by. Task someone else with chasing up RSVPs or with planning the hen-do.

By having a wedding planning night each week you'll set aside time that both you and your partner can be present and focus on tasks for the wedding - whether that's replying to suppliers, choosing your chair covers, picking a menu or doing the seating plan. Doing it this way means your entire week doesn't get swallowed up by wedding planning either and you leave time in your schedule for other things.

Decide early on what you'd like to splurge and save on as a couple. If you can double up the flower centrepieces and bouquets as gifts you can save some money too!

Remember to hire a good photographer and do your research to find one that represents the style you are going for as a couple. Photographs will provide memories of the day for years to come and you'll no doubt want to have them on display in your home too! If you can afford to splurge here .....then do.......!

5 things you’re going to want pack in your wedding day SOS kit or task this to an organised bridesmaid!
1) Change of shoes
Even if think you will last the day and evening in your wedding shoes, it’s best to pack a flat “just-incase pair”.
2) Paracetamol
You can guarantee that someone in your wedding party is going to get a bit of a headache (maybe from drinks the night before).
3) Suncream (especially if you’re having an outdoor summer wedding)
Even if your wedding is largely indoors if you catch the sun easily you don’t want to look back at your photographs and think ‘If only I’d packed the sun cream!’ Makes sure it’s one that doesn’t stain clothes!
4) Mini deodorant, you may want one to hand to reapply during the day.
5) Mints or fresh breath spray
You want to make sure your first kiss of married life is a pleasant one.
Keep away from strong flavoured food on the morning of your wedding and before you grace the aisle, have a quick mint or spritz your mouth with some fresh breath spray. You'll feel super confident puckering up too!

Who doesn't love a dessert and menu tasting? I know I do!
It's a great way to share something a bit special with your loved ones and also makes them feel like they are a bit more included in your wedding planning process too.
We'd recommend double checking with your venue to make sure it's okay to bring guests along as there may be a fee, but from experience, normally there's plenty of food to go around.

Whether you lick, brush, glue or tape your wedding invitations - there's a lot to go through. Here's another little handy tip..... once the envelopes are sealed, place them under something heavy whilst they dry.

This will reduce any wrinkles across your envelope and ensure those flaps are stuck down, ensuring that the first impression of your wedding that your guests receive is as perfect as you and your stationer envisioned.
