We are inching closer to the finishing line with the street improvements and we’re really starting to see how it will look when it’s complete. The new road surface is down, pavements are almost done and the end is in sight.

Drying flowers is a really simple process, just hang them upside down in a warm dry room and voila! Perfect for preserving those beautiful blooms and giving them a new lease of life.

Calatheas are stunning plants, grown for their beautiful and wide-ranging foliage. Sometimes known as the "Prayer Plant", due to their leaves which open and close at night.

Plant care:
⛅️They thrive in a warm, humid room with lots of indirect light. To ensure humidity levels are enough mist regularly or place on a tray of moist pebbles.
💧Little and often is the key for watering your Calathea as they love their soil to be moist at all times, but not soaking wet.
Make sure to feed your Calathea reagularly during their growing season to ensure a full and beautiful plant. Wipe away any dust settled on their leaves to ensure they can soak up all the light then need.

It’s Emily here, owner of From Eden Floristry, your newest addition to the Fisherton Mill Community. I wanted to introduce myself to you all as I've had a lot of new followers recently and say hello, and to thank you all for making me feel so welcome already after only being here at Fisherton Mill for just over a month!
I am planning lots of exciting things for the shop and am in the planning process for lots of floral and plant related workshops.

🪴Thursday's Plant of the Day.... CALADIUM
Known for their heart-shaped leaves these incredible looking plants are the perfect addition to any plant lovers home, and they're even great for beginners! Their striking colour and interesting foliage is a real showstopper for any room.

Plant care:
⛅️They thrive in a warm, humid room with lots of indirect light. To ensure humidity levels are enough mist regularly or place in a bright but not sunny bathroom, the perfect home for a caladium.
💧Caladiums like regular watering, especially in hot, dry weather. Keep their compost consistently moist, but not water-logged and your plant will thrive!
These stunners go dormant during the winter, so don't panic if later on in the season it looks a little unhappy. During this period don't worry about watering your caladium, just want until spring for the colour to burst through!
