What is Sound Healing/Therapy and how does it work.
Part 2) The history of therapeutic sound.
Sound healing has been used around the world in ancient cultures since time immemorial. Music and humanity are inseparable. (Tibetan monks, indigenous Americans and ancient Greeks to name, but a few.)
Humanity lost touch with the sacred knowledge somewhere along the way.
The aboriginal people of Australia were the first culture known to have practised sound healing. The traditional instrument they have used for over 40,000 years is the didgeridoo.
Ancient Tibetan monks used singing bowls for spiritual ceremonies and for healing meditations. The first bowls dated back 6000 years. They were made from various metals. The sound vibrations from these bowls allow for deep relaxation of both brain hemispheres helping to relieve stress and release toxins from the body.
Ancient Greeks used sound healing to cure mental disorders, digestive problems and aid sleep.
Toning using vowel sounds was popular in ancient Egypt and was believed to restore the harmonic resonance to the body.
Ancient sages, Masters and enlightened communities, for thousands of years, have known and understood the significance and importance of sound as a sacred instrument of immense power and potential for healing and spiritual development.
The variety of sound instruments used by ancient civilisations was extremely varied and extensive. Sound tools from across the Earth have only, in recent years, become widely known about and available due to the Internet and global travel.
Much of the ancient wisdom from the past has only been rediscovered in the last few decades.
Therapeutic sound tools, create natural waves of unadulterated sound that both strengthen and feed our whole being. They balance and harmonise, and can ultimately act as an energetic bodybuilder and cleanser, as well as help towards spiritual unfoldment.
They allow old stagnant and unhealthy energies to be cleared away and transformed and replaced with new, clear and pure harmonic, vibrational energies . They restore our natural resonance, bringing us from a state of disharmony, manifesting as stress, tension and disease, to a state of balance, peace and harmony, which ultimately leads to ease and positive well-being.
