A beautiful floral ode to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. 💐👑

Blooms of gold, pink and deep burgundy, sat amidst the rich green foliage chosen for their symbolism & taken from the royal gardens:

Rosemary for remembrance.
Myrtle, the symbol of a happy marriage, cut from a plant that was grown from a sprig of myrtle in The Queen's wedding bouquet in 1947
English oak, a national symbol of strength, in a nod to the Queen's constancy and steadfast duty.

The flowers featured included scented pelargoniums, garden roses, autumnal hydrangea, sedum, dahlias and scabious, all in shades of gold, pink and deep burgundy, with touches of white, to reflect the colours in the Royal Standard flag on which the wreath sat.

Lady Flora is saddened to hear that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, has passed away.

From her Coronation 70 years ago she has captivated us and served us diligently with dedication & grace.

We take this opportunity to share an image of her on her Coronation day in 1953 with her flowers in Westminster Abbey being done by the great society florist, Constance Spry & her bouquet by Martin Longman of Longman Florists of London.

Apparently many flowers were donated from private homes and also many were shipped in from members of the British Commonwealth. These included lilies, roses, carnations, sweet peas, gladioli, peonies, delphinium, lotuses, frangipanis, and protea.

What a glorious start to an extraordinary reign. 🙏👑
