Saxilby Village Hall is the perfect venue for clubs, organisations and events of all sizes. In fact it is made up of two halls (of different sizes), and an upstairs function room. Nothing locally comes close in size or flexibility, and there should be a hall, or room to meet the requirements of any hirer. Should you need a room for a business meeting/presentation or a large wedding reception, Saxilby Village Hall and your imagination can make it happen.

Parish Council Election 22nd August. Just a reminder that there's an election tomorrow (Thursday) to elect a parish councillor. There are two candidates and the polling station will be at the village hall as usual. No polling cards have been sent out, so please remember to take identification with you to vote. This election has been called for by residents.

We're back open. A place has been created for motorbikes on the left, as you go in.

Scout newspaper bins are relocated at the back.

Security cameras are in place to monitor safety and fly tipping.

Please park sensibly......

Line marking day.....

Please don't park in the car park until it's completed.

Hi,

We're looking for quotes please to paint the outside of the village hall.

It's mainly breeze block type material.

It's at height in certain areas, so you'll need the safety side covering.

We do need to see public liability certification.

Many thanks

Jane

A team of workers will be arriving early Friday am, to sweep and reline the car park.

Many thanks.

Hi,

Please can everyone ensure cars are out the village hall car park Thursday night, 1st August?

We've a team of workers with machinery arriving early Friday 2nd August, to commence sweeping and line marking.

Hopefully, it'll be a 24 hour job.

Thank you.

Hi,

The Village hall car park will soon be undergoing a makeover.

I'll announce a closure date for the car park in due course.

Please be patient whilst the work is undertaken.

All vehicles will need to be removed the night before.

It will then be cordoned off.

Minimal disruption to the halls users.

Thank you.

I'm in the process of finding the best way to display some photographs of the hall, over the years.

Working alongside the Saxilby History Group.

If anybody else has any significant photographs/memories please do make contact.

Or indeed, any ideas on displaying them for years to come.

Many years ago Keith asked me to join the Village hall committee, and I declined due to family, work and other commitments.

I was approached again a few years ago, and although probably busier than ever, knowing Keith and Beryl were getting a little older, accepted.

I promised him I would do everything I could to protect the hall, and it's users, and continue his good work.

Nobody, will ever replace Keith, but with his passing, we needed a new Chairperson.

I was elected last night, and I'm proud to hold that position.

It's all a little bit new to me, but I'm willing to learn. I'm not one to sit back, so you'll start to see some changes.

I've lived in the village 25 years, and brought my 5 children up here.

I'm a Grandmother, and you may even spot me running outside the village with my dog.

I'm in training for Lakeland 50 miler in 4 weeks.

I'm passionate about health and fitness, and I've been running fitness classes in the village hall for almost 32 years.

I'm also keen to reunite 💓 people in the village who may feel at a loss.

I'm hoping to get some social events up and running, too. Be great to be involved with Christmas 🎄 events.....

The Committee are already on our way, to continue improving a very old building.

These things take time.....

We will of course, be doing some kind of memorial in Keith's memory, and have a few ideas up our sleeves.

We're always up for suggestions, and support.
All our roles are voluntary, but giving back to our community, is indeed priceless.

Below, is our very recent car park improvement. More of course, is due to follow.

I'll keep you updated, and if you need anything please don't hesitate to contact me on here.

For those who have not yet heard, I have to report that Keith Jubb sadly passed away on the 3rd of June after a short illness. Keith was Chairman of the village hall committee for well over 50 years and during that time he made a great number of friends. His time as a cabinetmaker and shopkeeper (not to mention the mobile shop!) led him to know an even wider group of people, all of whom would have been touched by his warm and friendly manner. It will be a great loss to all who were lucky enough to have met him.
I'm sure that all those who knew Keith would wish to offer their condolences to his wife Beryl and son Mark. The funeral will take place at Lea Fields crematorium on Tuesday the 18th of June at 12:30 pm. I will let everyone know of the post funeral arrangements as soon as I know the details.

This has recently been uncovered. I do remember it being like this as a little girl.

A map of the village used to sit over it.

It's nice to reveal it again.

Bit of tidying up and it will look amazing.

Really enjoyed the play performed by Saxilby Drama Circle in the village hall last night. Very funny, great acting, a good night out. I think they have tickets left for tonight if anyone is looking for something to do...

Another great night out.
