FERN is a home-based business currently working on an enquiry only basis as it grows and develops. Our floral style focuses on texture, seasonality and bountiful foliage while using British-grown flowers as much as possible.

Huge thank you to all you lovely people at my workshop last night! We had so much fun making Spring hand-tied bouquets with some beautifully scented blooms.

I cleverly forgot to take any photos during the evening so if anyone has any photos of their bouquets and/or making them and would be happy for me to share them on my website please send them over 🩷

Well I don't want to jinx it but I think Spring is finally here! Though there's still a chill in the air and lots of grey cloud, the sun and warmth are peeking through!

I'm heading to visit my family and some friends for a few days to celebrate some birthdays - looking forward to fitting in as many catch-ups as I can over the next 3 days.

When I come back there's final planning for the Mother's Day workshop, a seasonal April wedding and a colourful hen-do to finalise!

Hello! Thought I would do a little introduction to anyone who hasn't met me yet. I'm Molly and I set up FERN on a part time basis from my home in Scarborough after completing my college course and lots of work with other florists across the area.

You can see me here in full work mode wearing my new floristry uniform of a green boilersuit which I'm VERY excited about - mostly because it's super comfy and I am all about comfort in life!

I can offer wedding flowers for small-medium sized weddings, funeral tributes, bouquets and bunches and I also run seasonal workshops throughout the year. Locally grown flowers are my favourite ones to use and as of this Spring I will be using flowers I have grown myself at my little patch near to where I live.

Bit of wiring practise this afternoon with a dainty blue flower crown. Flower crowns are a labour of love as they take a lot of time and work to make but are irresistibly pretty. You could have a bridal one for your big day or have mini ones for your little flower girls.

Crowns made with fresh materials are fleetingly beautiful wearable pieces of nature, while dried ones can be worn again and again on future celebrations!

Heading into Spring newly enthused after a lovely motivational zoom session with and some other talented florists last night. Chatting with other people in the industry from across the country is such a tonic to the indignance of imposter syndrome and the fear of starting a journey towards what I really want in my professional life.

As well as weddings, events and bouquets I also offer farewell tributes in a loose garden style.

This example of a rounded posy in classic white and green has lots of texture and is also fully compostable - made on a water resistant cardboard base with damp moss tied on with twine to create a moisture source for the flowers.

Flowers that are personal and meaningful to you and your loved one can be included if available and the upmost care will be taken to ensure a beautiful tribute is made to celebrate the life of your special person.

It was a pastel affair for yesterday's wedding with powder blue, baby pink, hints of lemon and lots of fresh white blooms. Tulips, narcissi and muscari reflected the long anticipated Spring sunshine.
