Unfortunately due to low ticket sales Friday's workshop has had to be postponed. I have now moved it to Friday 7th March and any original ticketholders have been contacted.

I was in two minds of whether to announce this as obviously low ticket sales doesn't look great for a business! But, I would rather be honest about my journey into running my own small business and acknowledge that it can be really difficult.

HOWEVER I don't want to be negative - we will try again!

Bit of admin this morning quoting for an exciting hen-do workshop where I will be helping some lovely ladies create some bold and colourful dried flower pieces which will form part of the wedding flowers later in the year. What a lovely thing to do for your wedding - creating the special pieces that will be a part of your day.

I'm working on the train as my partner and I have a very exciting day planned - we're London bound to go and see the Van Gogh exhibition at the National Gallery. Can't quite believe I'm going to see the actual paintings! Lots of inspiration for florals to come.

This post goes out to all the doubters...

Those who receive a wedding quote from a florist and are shocked because it's more expensive than they anticipated.

Perhaps they have seen a package that Marks & Spencer's offer?
Or they've spoken to a friend who did it herself after doing a day course in floristry?
Maybe Aunt F***y gave some advice, she got married in the 70's (third marriage twice divorced) she told them that flowers weren't a big thing and 'no one remembers them anyway.'

I mean, it's just throwing a few flowers together, surely???

Heck, even conditioning all the blooms when they arrive on the week of your wedding can take us a full day.

Not to mention the all nighters.
The getting up at 3am to make sure your buttonholes are fresh, fresh, fresh. The setting up in the dark. The pulling out of a venue at 5am.
You know, fair to say we definitely work the clock.

Not forgetting our experience...
When you pay for your wedding flowers you're not just paying for your wedding, instead you're paying for the years of 'pre your wedding' practices.
For me, near on 20 years of industry experience. The 400+ weddings that have happened before yours has...

So, if you'd like to give your money to a big corporation who don't give a damn about you or your wedding day, please by all means, go ahead.

But, if you'd like to work with creative, passionate people, go see where they work, benefit from meeting a real life person, 🙋🏻‍♀️ enjoy that cup of tea, discuss your big day, be educated in the ever changing world of flowers. Trust us it's a HUGE world.

Our industry has ALWAYS been a hard industry to work in.
