I know many local residents are very worried about SPEN’s proposal to install 75-85km of 400kV overhead power lines as part of the Cross-Border Connection project.

I seek full support at next weeks Council meeting on my motion requesting our Leader writes to SPEN on behalf of Scottish Borders Council requesting an eight week extension on the initial consultation period.

I will continue to work closely with John Lamont MP, Rachael Hamilton MSP for Ettrick, Roxburgh & Berwickshire, Juliepirone4TweeddaleEast and other colleagues on this issue.
