Falcon Manor
At Falcon Manor, heritage is a key element to the allure of this wedding venue. The Reverend Swale built Falcon Manor in 1841, quaintly named Ingfield Hall at the time. It was actually the Reverend Swale’s two Grandmothers who provided the money to build Falcon Manor in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, but it was designed to be befitting of the Reverends status and is indeed one of the most elegant country manor houses in the Yorkshire Dales. No one knows how this exquisite estate got its current name except that in 1921, Falcon Manor was born. Falcon Manor was clearly built for a man of great privilege and power, and the idyllic manor house is grand in stature, but still harmonises with the serene and sublime natural landscape, along with many churches in Settle and the surrounding villages.
Funnily enough, The Settle Parish Church was also built thanks to a donation of £500 from the Reverend Swale’s Grandmothers. When Falcon Manor was acquired by James’ Places in 2014, we undertook a full refurbishment that saw original features like the magnificent staircase restored to their former glory. Each room was designed with luxury and comfort in mind while paying homage to the grandeur of the manor’s past. Since then, couples have been eager to get married at our historic wedding venue, from the elegant staircase to the beautiful light-filled function room.
