Excited to be exhibiting at The Buttery and Glasshouse, midsummer night’s wedding open evening on 21st and 22nd June during the Summer solstice, a time of celebration of love, life and new beginnings.
For centuries, civilizations have celebrated this time of the year as the ‘marriage between day and night’. A belief that it is lucky to wed in the month of ‘June’ stems from the ritual of honouring the summer solstice. Even the term ‘honeymoon’ is thought to originate from a pagan reference to the midsummer moon and the fermented honey, or mead that a newly-wedded couple would drink as part of their nuptials."
