Had the pleasure creating some very special farewell flowers for a friends mother this week.
The brief was her love of her garden but of how she loathed the colour pink, which is quite hard at this time of year when pink is possibly the most abundant colour in people’s gardens! I chose some absolutely stunning David Austin roses which complimented the Delphinium, Astilbe, flowering mint and scabious to name a few. Loved how it turned out and was sent the kindest message after 💛

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported my little flower business, it’s much appreciated when we all know it’s much easier to pick up a bunch of flowers when you’re choosing what you’re going to have for dinner in Tesco! (They’re obviously not as special or as beautifully hand crafted though!) So thank you 🙏

Lovely honey from lovely people 🍯

Rain stops me beekeeping but it never stops me delivering. :)

When you order from Bunbury Bees its me who delivers it*. The beekeeper who tended the hives your honey came from walks up your path and knocks on your door! On beekeeping days I might even be smokey and in my beesuit as I visit you on my way between apiaries!

Likewise the only honey I sell is from my hives in ten different locations around the Isle of Wight. I never buy in someone else's honey to sell.

You wont find my honey is shops. The only other way to buy is if I've set up a stall at an event such as the Royal Isle of Wight County Show.

Aren’t these huge dahlia heads just fantastic, they are almost the size of a dinner plate! Unfortunately they were blown over in the wind so I had to give them the chop this morning but don’t worry, I’ve given them a loving home 🥰 This year we have been experimenting with growing more of our own, for sustainability and to try and keep ever rising costs down. I thought these dahlias were a gonna after the super hot summer (plus a hose pipe ban here on the Isle of Wight!) but what with all the rain of late they’ve resurrected themselves and aren’t they just stunning! I think I might be planting a lot more of these next year 💜

Wild, natural and hand picked was the desired look for a wedding this week.

I do love to do more organic style bouquets without quite so much structure. You can go a little bit crazy!

I’ve attempted to grow a lot more of my own flowers this year. This cuts down on air miles and also all the flowers are grown from organic seeds so no nasty pesticides. Some have been great, dahlias, matracaria, nigella, lupins and alchemilla mollis, with still more to come. Watch this space!

We had the absolute pleasure of creating these wedding flowers for at last weekend. The wedding theme was celestial with dark blues, purples and silver tones.
We added some succulents for a little more interest too.

Well what a busy weekend that was!
Our first wedding was at Bembridge Sailing Club. Soft whites and greens with the star flower being gorgeous white Hydrangeas. We decorated the beautiful bannister with a foliage garland and tied white hydrangeas where we could! Simple styling for a great couple.

💐Our florists choice hand tied bouquet is proving very popular this year. This way I get to select the best blooms for you at the wholesalers whilst keeping an eye on cost too, it’s a win,win! As we’re all very aware everything has gone up in price and sadly that includes flowers too.
💐We only have a limited amount of delivery slots available which will allow us to get your flowers there asap on the Sunday and then also I’ll get to spend some time with my lovely mum and also my family.

Good morning.

I’ve been a bit quiet on here recently, for no other reason than life is just busy, but I’ve had a word with myself and promise to post more…well I’ll try!

I know we’re not quite into Autumn yet but you can most definitely feel a nip in the air in the slightly darker evenings now.
These flowers were just perfect for this time of year. This lovely wedding had warm autumnal tones including hypericum berries and eryngium with contrasting roses flowing through it. I just love these colours, you wouldn’t think they would work together but they definitely do!
