Fallow Field Blooms is having a slight change and rebrand as I partner up with Vicky, a local flower grower and florist to start our new joint venture Greystone Flowers. We both realised we loved what we do with our own businesses but how much better it would be to do it together!

Please give our new page a follow and like to continue with us on our journey, providing you with British flowers throughout our growing season as well as beautiful flowers for your events and occasions. We will continue to show behind the scenes as we start preparing for our 2024 growing season!

We’re a small business run by two passionate flower farmer and florists, Vicky and Megan 👩🏻‍🌾👩🏻‍🌾

Vicky (previously Blooms & Bantams) and Megan (previously Fallow Field Blooms) have loved growing our own businesses but realised how much better it would be to do it together!

We have lots of exciting weddings, events and will continue to offer flowers for all occasions 🌸 We are also planning to expand our wholesale British flowers offer for 2024!

We’ve got some exciting news we’re ready to share.. We (Vicky and Megan) are going into business together! 👩🏻‍🌾👩🏻‍🌾

You may have noticed in recent weeks we’ve been working closely together and behind the scenes we’ve been developing our business plan ready to join & and launch next month 🙌🏻

We want to grow on a bigger scale and build on the success of our businesses to offer wholesale flowers to florists as well as have more British flowers for our wedding couples, retail customers and workshops 🌸

Stay tuned for our next announcement where we will be unveiling our new brand and our growing plans for the 2024 flower season! 🌿

Also, how stunning are these arrangements from a business planning and flower arranging session we had a few weeks back with these gorgeous footed bowls!

A little post of appreciation to express how grateful I am for my community of flower growers. The end of British fresh flower season feels like it is approaching and this week I have made sure I have taken time to soak in the joys of using 100% local British flowers. I don’t take it for granted and I know my customers appreciate every stem carefully grown by me and our local community of growers.

We cannot single handedly grow enough to meet the increasing demands for British flowers which is a fantastic position to be in! Having each other is so important to not only supplement our own flowers but also provide support and friendship in what can be quite an isolating business.

Whether it’s my insta grower friends or my local flowery friends, I wouldn’t have achieved what I have this year without you and your beautiful flowers 🌸

Special mention to my local growers with the most amazing flowers who always help me out with a bucket or two 💛🌸👩🏻‍🌾

Farewell Flowers arranged by Vicky and I in her studio this week for a gentleman who loved gardening 🌿

His family wanted to be able to repurpose some of the flowers so we incorporated jam jar posies which could be taken out of the arrangement. The rest of the arrangement would still be full of greenery and flowers as well as being full compostable with no floral foam. Influenced by 🙌🏻

Dried bridal bouquet wreath with it’s beautiful silk ribbon from 🤍

During our consultation Rebecca asked whether I can help drying and preserving her bouquet after the wedding.. obviously it was a big yes!

Drying flowers from a bouquet is rather experimental particularly with some not drying as well as others but rebecca was happy go with the flow 🙌🏻

Once all the flowers dried we agreed on a wreath design to provide them with an everlasting arrangement! The dahlias and foliage dried well along with the echinops and eryngium to keep the hint of blue 🌿

Where it all began… my own wedding a year today 🤍

I got engaged in 2020 and made the decision to grow flowers for our wedding. We hit lockdown so I had to use online resources as well as trial and error but by our wedding in 2022 I had a plot full of flowers ready to go.

I’d found dahlias and they were always going to play a big part.. which they did! I wanted bright colours to pop against the bridesmaids dresses and venue.

Would I do my bridal bouquet so big and include 3 cafe au lait dahlias.. probably not but I loved it and felt proud of what I’d achieved!

Since then I’ve developed my floristry skills, attended places like and I’m learning all the time. Growing cut flowers has been the best thing I did and I love where it’s taken me 👩🏻‍🌾🌸

DIY wedding flowers will always be an aspect of my wedding offer because it’s such a fun experience even if it’s just a small aspect of the overall flowers 🙌🏻

This weeks British flowers all locally grown and they do not disappoint 🌸

I love Dahlias (I think you already knew that) but they’re not renowned for having the best vase life so it’s important to create a bouquet with blooms and interest that will continue once the Dahlias’s are ready for the compost. This week we have sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, feverfew and statice to name a few that will keep your bouquet looking great if you snip the ends and give them fresh water regularly ✂️💧🙌🏻

My subscription customers love their monthly flowers which are changing with the season 🌿

Blooms are grown by Gemma with some of mine added in 🫶🏻👩🏻‍🌾

Everlasting Dried Wreath are a labour of love but so worth it 💛

This wreath is very special as it was a farewell gift for my bestie from her lovely work colleagues which I was honoured to do 🥰

We will be offering an everlasting dried wreath or fresh flower gift bouquet as part of our Dahlia necklace release if you’re tempted 🌸

I love getting creative with different dried flowers and colour schemes particularly with a recent delivery from of dried British flowers to work with 👩🏻‍🌾

FFB HQ has had a revamp and I felt it was worthy of a square! It represents my business growing and the investment I have been able to make in stock and sundries over the last year 🙌🏻

I have slowly taken over my dining room and spare room (dried flower storage is another goal) so wanted to get things more organised to save time but also make it liveable ☺️

There is always lots happening behind the scenes with a small business. This week I have also been planning for workshops, making dried wreaths and responding to enquiries 👩🏻‍🌾

I also created a vase arrangement with some flowers left over from my florist bucket 🌸

I’ve had a productive morning weeding, cutting flowers and putting in plant supports followed by a flower delivery.

I had a quick stop at for some dahlias for this bouquet because mine are taking their time 🙃

Being able to grow flowers allows for such a good variety in a bouquet. In here we have dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, feverfew, snapdragons, strawflowers, sedum and raspberry foliage 🌸

I have some limited availability left for bouquets with delivery on Tuesday and Wednesday then my out of office will be on for a week 🗓️

I was honoured to provide flowers for my friends Jazz and Craig who had an intimate ceremony in a gorgeous treehouse followed by a big party where we danced the night away.

I used all British flowers including some gorgeous dahlias and the colours really pop in the woodland setting. Thank you Little Wild Flower for providing me with the most beautiful flowers to arrange with. I love brights and was so glad Jazz trusted me to do whatever I wanted 🤍

Workshops 🌸

Last weekend I hosted a flower workshop for a hen party who were staying in a cottage in Derbyshire for the weekend.

The group created a mix of hand-tied bouquets and jam jar posies which they were able to take home with them to enjoy!

I love talking about all things flowers and sharing my passion with others. The workshop included a demo of a spiral technique for arranging a bouquet and we chatted about flower varieties, thinking about how we could use them in arrangements.

What would you like to create at a workshop? 🌻 Or how about a workshop to help you grow your own cut flowers? 👩🏻‍🌾

Everlasting dried flower wreaths 🙌🏻

They come in different sizes and every wreath will be individual but I can work to colour themes. I like to pack my wreaths quite full to get the impact and interest from the different flowers used.

I continue to build my dried flower stock and trial drying different flowers. This year I will be drying more dahlias as I loved using them in previous wreaths.

At the moment dried wreaths are made to order with turn around time of 1-2 weeks. They come giftwrapped as pictured and can be posted across the UK.

Flower Crowns 🌸

They are a labour of love but I wouldn’t be without them! You can use fresh flowers as well as dried flowers depending on the look you want.

This beautiful flower crown was for the lovely Anna who took part in a flowery workshop for her hen party. It included the first of the dahlias and scented David Austin garden roses 🤍

This week I spent time with creating floral arrangements on a bigger scale for weddings and events.

It was great having creative freedom and continuing to develop my style with an abundance of seasonal flowers.

I love growing flowers and it will always be a big part of my business but there’s something about the floristry side that makes my heart sing 🫶🏻
