📣ANNOUNCEMENT: The Great Grimsby Christmas Festival is this Saturday, with something for everyone to do.

However, we are aware of early advice from the Met Office about high winds and heavy rain that day. We’ll be monitoring the weather and provide an update on Thursday once the weather projection is more certain.

Grimsby’s biggest holiday celebration returns, where we’re going to turn the town centre to a full on festive day 🎄❄️

This year we worked with to develop the festival across two outdoor locations and several indoor venues, a road closure and a bigger parade that includes over 100 lanterns & a band of live santas!

The festival with feature a live music Main Stage to showcase Grimsby’s finest talent, and a community performance area with choirs, carols and DJ workshops of course!

Hands-on craft activities will be ongoing all day: from card making station, to a Christmas at the beach area, where you’ll make your own mini Christmas tree.

If you’re a winter sports lover, you could try your hand at curling on the pop-up Curling Lane.

Over 30 festive market stalls will join us making it an extensive browsing day of local makers and produce 🥨🌭🍰 🎁

Last but not least, we worked with to bring you LUMA, a 9-metre-long interactive light installation 🌟 an inflatable robot snail that will tower over visitors blending technology and nature

We’ve opened up applications for dance groups and community groups to take part. You’ll need to dress up in the lights theme – think fairy lights, glow sticks, LEDs, lanterns – and create a linear simple choreography to perform as you walk in the parade, for a chance to win a prize for the best dressed group or for the best group’s choreography!

🌊 is finally here this Saturday 22nd June ✨

This year we have received the amazing support of £49k from to develop the programme and the role of the community in developing this rich and cultural festival.

The programme is vaste and diverse, celebrating the heritage of the town’s relationship with the sea, while also looking at the exciting future ahead.

From Stand Up paddle boarding to fish cookery demo, live music theatrical shanties and mass community dance, an interactive fortune teller installation, a poetry game show - with of course, a world record attempt of messages in a bottle too ⚓️🐟

We have also expanded the fringe events activities, to include a 💥 Festival of the Sea After Party! 💥

The festival is shaping up to be an incredible day of local and national performances designed by the community and for the community 🌊✨
