Just over a week til the wonderful Me Lost Me plays her first Sheffield show with full band (clarinet and double bass / bass). Expect an extravaganza of electro-folk, incredible hooks, renditions of medieval songs and thrilling visuals.
Me Lost Me’s most recent album is a wonder and this comes wihh the the highest possible recommendation!
As if that wasn’t enough, support comes from Ben McElroy, hazy folk soundscapes of clarinet, laptop, viola and voice.

The Feathered Thorns "A spectral fog of acoustic authenticity and jarring electronic interference" Stewart Lee.

Zandra is made up of Zandra, Dan and Sam. Folk of a kind that has been given a good sprinkling of ambient sounds and drones.
Pin drop quiet and intimate. Their songs hold onto a simple humbleness that the chaos of everyday life try to drown.

We came through and clouds were flying.Jyst a few photos from our weekend of "Happenings"@ Bishops'House.
So grateful to all the artists who graced the space.
Thanks to: Gris Marguerite, Anne Robinson and Lou Barnell/Quieting.
David and Sam from Folklore Tapes,
Arianne Churchman and Benedict Drew and especially to Pefkin who not only did sound other evenings but also stepped in with a new 40min composition created in a few hours and it was fab.
To Rick M for helping out when we needed it most. Finally to the audiences who are so amazingly attentive and supportive of the performers and what we are trying to do.

Just over a week until we present An Evening with Folklore Tapes at Bishops' House.

Last time the collective held the room spellbound and enchanted with an extended piece and performance based on the museum's witchmarks. This time they are creating another bespoke performance crafted from spooked handmade strings, uneasy drones, shadow puppetry and automata.

We can't say much more than that but it will be spooky and it will be very magical.

Just under two weeks until we bring 3 nights of experimental Audio Visual Splendour to Bishops House.

Friday 3rd October, Lou Barnell/ Maeve Devine AKA
, come together to create a very special collaboration, exploring the timely/ timeless issue of censorship and control. We use an alchemical sound/ material response from a ND/trans/feminist and antiracist perspective to explore the Scolds Bridle housed in Bishops House Sheffield.

Also showing is the short "Poor on the Roll" by artist Anne Robinson further exploring the themes of of class, time travel and control.

Also Performing will be Gris Marguerite: Multi-instrumental spliced sound and visual horrors from Sarah McWatt and Wesley Loveday

Been a great few days of folk and drone music at Bishops House. Thanks for all your support.

Next week we have two sold out gigs of strange weird drone folk.

Three experimental events not to be missed.
Perceptions will be rearranged, Minds may be blown, Jaws may be dropped.
Explanations seem pointless or inadequate........... but we will try in the coming days. These posters present a flavour of what's instore.
