QUINTESSENTIAL BRITISH SUMMER WEDDING

Just had to share these beautiful images of Amelia & Max’s June wedding featuring the prettiest of summery pastels in pink, lilac and peachy tones.

Were finding our couples are choosing opposite colour palettes - either soft pastels or super, vibrant brights.

Which would you choose, because honestly, I just love flowers and working with colour!

BRITISH GROOM BLOOMS

I’ve always loved how different British grown blooms are and so I thought I’d share my thoughts on why their my go to during the Summer months.

I’ve never created my designs using ‘recipes’. Instead I prefer to create multiple designs like bridesmaids bouquets, table arrangements and buttonholes using similar materials but not to an exact formula.

I prefer to let the individual stems shine and come together in a far more organic way … until I sense they are right and of a similar shape and similar design.

Using a formula for each design does absolutely make ordering easier but even after so many years of experience, I still love the thrill of when my order arrives and the not quite knowing exactly I’m going to get! Tx

How to preserve your bridal bouquet

New journal post alert!

We recently posted here about a flower press I received from my eldest daughter as a gift for Mother’s Day, and it inspired me to write a little advice piece on how you can preserve your bridal bouquet and beautiful wedding flowers.

A very common question we get from our brides and couples is how they can preserve their wedding flowers, so we wanted to share with you the techniques and ways you can properly press and preserve your flowers so that you can keep them for years.

Click the link in our description to read the full journal post, learn more about our love of flower pressing and discover the best techniques that can help you make your beautiful flowers last a long time.

Massive thanks to our lovely past brides who sent us in these before and after pics of their bridal flowers and how they have kept them as long lasting mementoes.

Enjoy! T & Izz

Weddings are a special time for couples and their families. They are filled with love, joy, and of course, beautiful flowers.

As a team of strong women, we love how our brides are breaking tradition by taking the microphone and giving their own speeches at the reception.

Brides are using this opportunity to make sure that all of the special people in their lives feel appreciated and included in such an important event.

We love to see brides taking the initiative and breaking tradition. It's an incredibly personal moment that allows them to express their feelings and thank those who have supported them on their journey. And how it gives brides the opportunity to image 1share their story, express gratitude, and create a truly memorable experience for everyone involved.

As you can probably tell, we wholeheartedly embrace any opportunity for women to have a voice.

So we thought we’d share just a couple of images we have from last years’ weddings.

If you’re looking for the perfect flowers to make your wedding day special, look no further.

We have so many gorgeous floral arrangements and bouquets that will give you plenty of inspiration for your big day.

Whether you’re looking for something classic and elegant or something more bold and unique, we have something to suit your style. Visit our website today to explore all the possibilities, link in the description!

I’M GETTING MARRIED NEXT MARCH … I’ve no idea what flowers are available …

If this is you. Fear not!

We’ve put together a little
showcase of some of our March best bits to help.

Snippets are of Emily & Matt's stunning wedding at and fabulous Wedding Open Day.

We've been as busy as bees, gearing up toward wedding season and prepping for the weddings and events we were so grateful to play a part in.

Hoops, pillars, pedestals, styling and floral top table runners are just a few of the extraordinary installations we've created.

So, we wanted to curate a little carousel that almost acts as a bit of a lookbook for March this year, have a swipe through and get inspired by the innovative and beautiful things we love to create for you, as well as the stationery and styling we can provide.

Bonus points if we feature your colour scheme of fave flowers which might include muscari, ranunculus, blossom, tulips, anemone, hyacinths … to name but a few!

Save this to remind yourself what your March wedding could look like or alternatively head to our website to browse our month by month guide which showcases all the possibilities for your big day - link is in our description!

Spring has sprung!

Now that the first "official" day of spring has passed, it's really starting to feel like the world is waking back up and the days are slowly but surely getting brighter and longer, we wanted to bring you some positive spring goodness.

These beautiful pictures are from Claire & Allen's April wedding

Claire decided on a very soft and natural, posy-style bouquet in her chosen colour palette of yellows, creams, whites and greens. The vibe on the big day was super fun and informal - among a few things I remember the mentioning of a giant parkin cake and a bouncy castle!

One of the many reasons as to why we love what we do so much is because each day is so personal and special for the couples we work with. We understand that this is a once in a lifetime event and it's truly our pleasure to make sure that the flowers, styling, theme and fit always are perfect.

Say “I Do” to our beautiful blooms and check out our month by month guide on how your wedding could look - link in the description!

STORIES OF YOUR DAY

I’m super excited to tell you that Izzy and have been working away together to create a new feature on our website.

As you might imagine, we have so many stories to tell. We’ve always loved the heartwarming way in which we form close connections with our couples and how so many continue to follow us and stay friends for years after their day.

So, we’ve decided to create a Journal so we can share our experiences of working closely with you.

It’ll be full of helpful tips, bags of inspiration and, even more than this, it’ll give you an insight into what we do, the designs we create, the colours, the flowers we work with and the ways we style your venue to create your aesthetic.

I’m super proud of Izzy, as she wrote Rachel & Joe’s story, our first feature, and it’s a good one!

Pop over to our Journal to read more (link in profile) and let us know what you think.

Ooh, and if there’s anything you’d like us to share, then do let us know.

Shout out to our good pal for sharing these glorious images. And, of course, massive thanks to Rachel & Joe for choosing us,
it was such a pleasure.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to these two wonderful people.

With a colour palette of white, powder blue, dove grey and soft creams Laura asked for natural Spring flowers to be teamed with calla lilies.

Although calla Lily can be quite structural, we chose the teeniest lilies we could find to create a really soft slightly rounded bouquet to work with the shape of Laura’s 50’s tea length dress.

My absolute favourite are the little delicate muscari (grape hyacinth) which have the most subtle scent.

It’s hard to believe this was 2014, it seems such a long time ago, but also like it was only yesterday!

Beautifully captured images by the super lovely, talented duo

Happy Early Anniversary Emily & Ross!!

Ok so, it's a couple of days early because their date is actually 19.03 but we couldn't resist sharing these photos from of Emily and Ross, the loveliest people ever!

I remember on their wedding day last year the sun was just starting to shine and the days were getting warmer, a bit of a far cry from the mad snowy spell we had here in Sheffield last week!

Emily and Ross' colour palette of autumnal rust and jewel colours were a brilliant choice - they kept their original October colour scheme - which I think is so fantastic and fun for March. Not the pastel palette you might expect!

went for a full flower crown to compliment her bouquet of the colour and texture with the awesome hair and makeup done by and with her dress from

Congratulations to the two of you, wishing you the absolute best on your anniversary and sending all our love from everyone in the team. T x

Wedding floristry and design FAQ's!

🌸Can you provide styling as well as flowers?

🌺Absolutely we can! Styling is a huge component of the service we provide, we can supply vases, stationery, candles, lanterns and place settings - just to name a few. We have found that providing styling and design as well as show stopping florals simplifies a huge amount for our couples and results in a much more cohesive overall theme for your big day.

🌸I’m looking for sustainability in my wedding, is seasonality important in your work?

🌺Yes! Seasonality is incredibly important to us, and utilising flowers that are at their absolute best during peak season is a fantastic way for our couples to get the best out of their blooms. At Campbell's we also stick by our ethos of sustainable floristry and try to use British grown flowers wherever possible, so you can rest easy knowing we'll steer you in the right direction when you ask for recommendations and advice! You’ll also be super happy to hear we don’t use nasty green foam and create our designs using sustainable techniques.

🌸How far in advance should I book you?

🌺A year in advance is usually best, but if you want to be sure of working with us then getting in touch just after you've booked your venue is also recommended so we can discuss your colour scheme, styling and general ideas!

🌸Where in the country do you cover?

🌺We are based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and focus on Yorkshire, Derbyshire, and Cheshire weddings. However if you are getting married further afield and love our style, we
are adventurers and will happily travel to you!

Save this to remember these FAQ's or tag a friend!

SHOW & TELL

Today I wanted to share these from James & Katies beautiful celebration day at Holmes Mill taken by

Organised by the absolutely awesome we went for a wild and unstructured combination of fresh and dried materials.

We created a huge flower bomb to hang in the middle of the sperry tent and either side we designed long, impactful, horizontal poles of foliage and dried materials to frame the tent and compliment the flower bomb.

We love floral designs that really do enhance the heart of your celebration and create the vibe you're looking for whether it be rustic, luxurious, whimsical or modern.

As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words and I think these images really show what a fabulous day it was.

For tons of inspiration for your day pop to our recently updated handy monthly portfolio and do get in touch to talk about us styling, designing and decorating your gorgeous marquee wedding. Tx

INNOVATION!

Innovation is such an integral part of what we love to do here at Campbell's Flowers, we absolutely adore the magical process of transforming your wedding venues using large-scale installations and perfectly matched styling.

Working in new venues and spaces really gives us the opportunity to flex our creative skills and to imagine new ways in which we can provide show stopping, jaw dropping floral installations.

Of course, familiar venues and settings also provide great circumstances in which we can curate your vision and provide fantastic attention to detail too!

No two of our designs will ever be the same because we absolutely love to push the boundaries of everything we create, sometimes for ourselves this even means sleepless nights!

Ultimately those seemingly impossible floral creations are always possible in the end and even more worth it when we see the way our couples react and receive your glowing feedback.

Above all else, we want to exceed your expectations. and when given the opportunity to provide elevated florals and styling, we love to contribute towards the memories of your perfect wedding day, which lasts forever.

Happy Sunday everyone- enjoy! Tx

HOW TO BOOST YOUR FLORALS

Today we wanted to talk about how you can boost your venue decoration on your big day. Here are our three top tips on ensuring your wedding flowers look great whilst also enhancing the colour palette of your overall floral landscape …

🌸 Make a statement!

If you're aiming to get the absolute best from your flowers, we highly recommend opting for at least one or two statement installations somewhere outside or inside your venue. This way you will capture the attention and interest of your guests and create that all important wow factor.

Many of our installations such as arches or milk churns can be moved and repurposed so you can enjoy your flowers for the whole duration of your day.

🌸 Seasonality

Each season has its own beautiful blooms and depending on the time of year you may have in mind, using these specialty selections to your advantage can really enhance the overall impact your flowers will have. If you're unsure of which flowers may be available, just enquire with your wedding florist and we can give expert advice.

🌸 Bouquet

Last but certainly not least, your bouquet is quintessential to your overall look and is an incredibly personal thing, specific flowers that have distinctive meaning can be used to represent memories and loved ones, and of course all manner of fabrics and trinkets can be incorporated into the binding of the stems.

Every aspect of our luxury wedding services are thought out and curated personally just for you.

Above all else we want to surpass your expectations and create something magical that you'll remember for all the future years yourself and your partner will share.

WHERE WE WORK

I wish I had a pound every time someone asked me where my shop is!  The truth is, I've never run a retail business and wouldn't know where to start, as from the very get-go I knew I wanted to concentrate all my energy and creativity on weddings and events - which is why I've always run Campbell's from studios or workshops.

So I thought it might be interesting to do a workspace showcase. When creating our couples' visions, workspace is key. Great materials, a great team, great workspace to get some incredible things done.

A comfortable, personalised working environment has always been so important to me, I truly believe a creative environment aids creative flow.

So, I have created separate working areas for the different areas of the business.  I have a specially converted, cool space in our basement for all the messy business of cleaning, storing, and designing flowers, along with a separate lock-up nearby that stores zillions of boxes filled with styling and prop hire.

Finally, I've curated a room that is now affectionately known as  "the lovely room" - a snuggly and relaxed environment for the whole team to use to write and create social media content, a quiet place where I can reply to emails and host consultations with potential couples.

We all know that a quality workspace leads to a more productive atmosphere, in our case, some good tunes, a brilliant work family, and a few cups of tea definitely help to move the process along!

Big shout out to our pal  for taking these lovely pics of me in our workspaces.

OUTDOOR CEREMONIES

I flipping love the idea of an outdoor ceremony, in fact I always dreamed that Mike and I would get married in our back garden.

If you’re thinking of having an outdoor ceremony, my advice to couples would be …

🌸 Have a plan B.

🌸 Make sure your statement ceremony piece is moveable

🌸 Talk to your florist about how the ceremony piece can be repurposed, to help stretch your budget.

We pretty much spend our summers in marquees, tipis, barns etc setting up statement outdoor pieces, so save this if you’re thinking of being in the beautiful outdoors!

We are working away from our home town this weekend so check out our stories for updates on how we’re getting on! Tx

STATEMENT PIECES

Are the designs which elevate your space whether that’s a tipi, a marquee or a venue of your choosing.

We always recommend at least one of two statement pieces, one of which is usually repurposed following your ceremony and thoughtfully placed to its best advantage.

EXPECTATION VS REALITY

Expectation: 2020 Wedding
Reality: 2022 Wedding

Sometimes, things don’t always go exactly according to plan when it comes to your big day. A lot of our couples from this year were from 2020, had then rescheduled for 2021, and again for this year - third time lucky!

Some were married in the time in between, and decided to have a big celebration with friends and family this year, some had had an extra family member when we saw them again, and some had rescheduled for an entirely different season and time of year than originally planned.

Regardless of time or season, those who were given the chance to celebrate their love this year, did so with gusto, and we were so happy to see those familiar faces again as well as some new faces when setting up their weddings.

A testament to hard times is that nothing can stop people from loving and celebrating even through 2020, 2021 and this year as things slowly but surely return to how they were.

Love to our couples Emily & Ross, Laura & Martin and Frankie & Robin who feature here and of course to all our couples we’ve had the honour of working with this year … one more wedding to go! Tx

HAPPY FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY LAURA & JONNY

Throwback to this amazing wedding which took place at - incidentally we were dancing our little hearts out there just last night for the event.

Laura was so fun to work with. As a florist, it's not very often that someone comes to you and says that they don't really like flowers! What transpired was that Laura particularly loves foliage, textures and didn't want her and Jonny's celebration to look classically wedding-y! Being a winter wedding, the couple asked for lots of greenery (bringing the outside in) with the addition of some frosty white accents.

I designed foliage bouquets with a little pop of white for the bouquets and for Laura's bouquet I suggested creating a trailing bouquet of frosty white asparagus fern. Laura absolutely loved it as it was everything she wanted and it has stayed fondly in my memory as one of those weddings where I was given a full rein to express myself creatively.

Hope you're having the best day ever, much love to you both. T x
