The most beautifully, elegant colour palette for Lauren & Simon. The marquee was adorned with rich foliage, pretty white florals, twinkly candles and neutral yet impactful linens and glassware combinations. It created such a classical warm and intimate setup with a harmonious blend of nature and elegant décor.

The kindest words from the gorgeous Emma & Joe 🤍
“After our wedding, I asked my partner what’s the one “non-negotiable” you’d recommend to other couples planning a wedding like ours and we both agreed that it would be Jess and her team. She goes above and beyond for you to make sure your day is special and runs smoothly. They were one step ahead always on the little details, and knowing there was someone we could go to on the day if needed (rather than people coming to me or the wedding party) was truly invaluable. Thank you Jess and team for helping to make our day so perfect, we genuinely couldn’t have done it without you!”
Planning your wedding or party is something that needs to be right from the beginning. It is an emotional investment as well as a financial one and it’s important our values align from the start. I'll work closely with you to bring your vision to life, ensuring every detail is perfect and stress-free. From the big moments to the smallest touches, I'm here to help you create a celebration that reflects your unique love story. Reach out to me today, and let's start planning the wedding of your dreams!

A marquee wedding offers freedom, flexibility and finesse. There are a thousand different ways to create something wonderful within a marquee, with endless possibilities for creativity. Often, marquees are held within family homes or private land, making the added nostalgia-factor and layers of meaning connected with the location all the more special. I will always be in full support of any couple wanting a marquee wedding, however, the moving parts and responsibility of a marquee wedding can be overwhelming and difficult to manage, as you’re essentially building the whole world of your wedding from scratch.

Marquee weddings are truly magical. Each marquee wedding we work on is a bespoke creation as the marquee lends itself perfectly to putting your own stamp on the space. With oodles of possibilities for creativity and exclusivity, it's no secret that marquee weddings are the favorite (and most frequent!) weddings here at Jessica Sharpe Weddings!

The utterly gorgeous Emma & Joe got hitched over the weekend - there was so much love and happiness surrounding by them, you'd had never of known we were having a great British summer ☔
Such a pleasure to catch up with the team this morning, so many exciting developments and plans in motion. It's a location I've always adored, spending many happy childhood moments here and just a stones throw from where I live now!!

The gorgeous pairs wedding is on my most recent blog, this pair had the most incredible day celebrating in the wonderful city of York.
Together we planned a city sleek weekend wedding, with an informal pre wedding party on Friday night in the centre of York. The design and vibe of the wedding day was pared back and chic, with lots of greenery and abundant candlelight. Rebecca and Mike themselves radiated classic style, and their images from around York Minster are nothing short of iconic

What a week!! From a site visit for an upcoming wedding in the gorgeous Lake District, to delivering a workshop in the beautiful Cotswolds- it's been a busy one. Next week sees the first wedding of the season for JSW and I absolutely cannot wait!!
I'll never not love these images of the gorgeous Chloe & Matt at - so much joy! The weather was typical of the Lake District (if you know you know!) and of course we had a contingency in place but at the elleventh hour the weather gods were in our favour and C&M had the most perfect ceremony on the edge of Lake Windermere 💞

What an absolute pleasure it was to bring vision alive for her debut photographers workshop and what a huge success it was!
Months in the making this workshop considered so many elements which are so important for novice and experienced togs to creatively capture and create. When can we do it all again?!

Almost two years ago and will never stop loving these images but even more these two!!
It's my mum's birthday over the weekend and she wants to go to a local American diner - I said to Jake (my partner) "Alix used to work there as one of her first jobs when she lived in the UK" - Jake said, "why do you know this stuff?" 😂
I think, what makes me good at curating your wedding plans is the genuine care and love for getting to know the two of you. I am so interested in what you like, what you don't like and who you are as people. It means that when we're working together, I instinctively and intrinsically know what will and won't work for you both.

Embarking on planning your wedding in 2024? What a hugely exciting time!! With lots to look forward to and lots to celebrate, planning your wedding is perhaps the most looked forward to, time.
I know the value in which working with a planner can bring to your plans and I know the stress it can alleviate. The experience it can create for you and the knowledge that you are in safe hands. I know this because this is how my clients feel.
However, if you're right at the beginning of your plans, feeling overwhelmed in general and want to enjoy your planning, here's what I'd do.
1. Lean on your network.
Ask your family and friends or wedding you've enjoyed for their thoughts, tips and supplier recommendations. Remember to take everything with a pinch of salt and stay in your lane with your vision.
2. Research.
We are living in a world where the internet has so many resources. We have incredible blogs and inspiration guides available to help you along the way. I regularly share inspo and resources on my own blog and I also love and and of course Pinterest for initial inspiration.
3. Enjoy the moment.
There's a lot of noise, especially this time of year with the term fully booked being used frequently. I'm not for one moment suggesting some suppliers aren't fully booked, but this term is ambiguous. Enjoy being engaged, enjoy the celebrations and enjoy the research and conversation stage. Seek genuine connection or admiration in terms of your suppliers.
4. Nothing.
If your feeling overwhelmed or stressed, now isn't the time to make any rash decisions. There is nothing worse than a quick, panicked decision that doesn't align with your overall vision or wants. Take a step back, go back to basics and regroup with your partner about what you'd like and how you'd like to celebrate.

Celebrating your wedding weekend within an exclusive use venue, available to you for the whole weekend is so so special 💞 Here are three reasons weekend weddings are some of my favorites to plan.
1. You tend to be more relaxed. Because you naturally arrive sooner ie the Friday, your nearest and dearest are usually with you overnight lending to a more relaxed atmosphere overall.
2. A chance to extend the celebrations. Celebrate for longer with welcome dinners and farewell brunches extending your wedding celebrations.
3. Creating pockets of time that you may not typically get with the busy-ness of your wedding day. Whether it's a late night chat with your bestie, a morning cuppa with your mum or a catch up with a not too often seen aunty, allowing yourself time and space around your wedding day to just be will probably be some of your favourite moments.

I'm still on cloud nine from the regional win for wedding planner of the year, what an absolute honor to win this not only last year for 2023 but now for a second time for 2024. I've had an influx of followers over the last week or so, so thought it a good time to say hello 👋
My clients mean the world to me and I pride myself on building relationships in a genuine and meaningful fashion so I can work my magic in the most authentic way. I have built up a reputation in the wedding industry for my practical approach to planning gorgeous, memorable weddings.
I’m the calm in the chaos, that’s how I like to operate. While I’d hesitate to compare myself to a swan, I do definitely appreciate the image of serenity above the surface while industriously paddling underneath!
Your wedding celebrations means multiple suppliers, possibly multiple locations and of course, multiple guest dynamics. As far as I’m concerned, the more complex the better. I don’t see the point in doing what’s been done dozens of times before. You deserve the celebration of a lifetime, and I’ll stop at nothing to get it right.

Bridal preparations are one of my favourite moments for my clients days. Find me a room filled with more anticipation, excitement and love; I dare you. Precious time with the people that have probably known you the longest and time to be genuinely treasured.
That very same combination of anticipation, excitement and love however, can lead to a little tension. But, ensuring everyone's happy and knows where they need to be makes for a happy room and will also help your hair and make up teams steer the room in the right direction and keep up that gorgeous atmosphere.
My biggest tips for a smooth bridal prep?
1. Create a clear plan of the order in which everyone's getting ready with and who with. For example if you've got 2 hair artists and 2 MUA's - make sure you know who's with who and in which order.
2. Nominate a dedicated time keeper (who isn't you) - this person needs to be calm and happy to keep you on track.
3. Allocated a little buffer time. Having more time to spend drinking fizz and chatting is never a bad thing.
4. Bring your HMUA's into the know. Your HMUA's are the experts, unsung heros of a wedding morning and your morning hype girls. Help them help you by naming who you've allocated to each. Be super clear and name them, rather than just 'bridesmaid'.
5. Agree one area to keep free from clutter and clothes tags for your photos. Your future self and your photography will be very grateful!

What an absolute joy it was to take a peek at this gorgeous gallery of Chloe & Matt's wedding by at Silverholme Manor, nestled in the Lake District.
Receiving this email from Chloe meant the world, it's always my number one goal that you feel listened to and comfortable working together so these words give me a great sense of gratitude 🌍
"I wanted to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU! I don’t even know where to start but our wedding literally wouldn’t have been anything close to what it was without you and your team. Thank you for going above and beyond for us. From holding my hand through planning, being the best soundboard and just taking over completely.
I felt so comfortable with you from the get-go and so safe knowing you were looking after everything (and everyone!) You knew all the questions to ask but also when to have a laugh and enjoy the moment!
Thank you for being there on Friday night and keeping an eye on everyone. On our big day, thank you for managing the wind for us! We got the day we so hoped for but it would not have happened without you and (other Jess)! I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, it was so amazing to work with you and I just wish we could do it again!"
Ever grateful 🤍🤍🤍🤍

Home again...
I've had a wonderful time recharging and re-grounding in beautiful Italy. As a complete foodie, I was on a mission to try each location's culinary specialities and I'm pleased to say, we wholeheartedly achieved this. I well and truly ate my way round the north of Italy. Spending time in Milan, Bologna, Florence, Rome and Genoa
I've returned feeling inspired. Also returning with a huge sense of gratitude that I get to come home, to the safety of my home.
Very much looking forward to catching up with my wonderful clients, getting stuck into new projects and looking forward to the weeks ahead ❤️

So I wanted to name this 'why cold calling doesnt work' but I also didnt want to sound like a complete k**b so I went for the more elqouent title of 'how to build long lasting, mutually beneficial, relationships in the wedding industry'
Anyway, now my little secrets out heres my thoughts on this topic...
I often get cold calls from suppliers wanting to build relationships and introduce themselves. Now, again referring to my earlier point - i'm not a complete k**b so im not 100% dismissing this networking/marketing tool, (*Also side note you'll find no bigger small business cheerleader - I once spent £20 on an actual peice of string which was named a 'christmas decoration' as someone I knew was just starting out crafting) however, and a big however, is that we are an industry of visual and emotional connection. Neither of which are conveyed by a phone call begun by "Can I speak to the business owner to talk about my XYZ service"
I have never ever built a long lasting relationship this way so heres what i'd do instead if I wanted to build relationships with wedding planners or wedding suppliers.
1. Its about them, not us. Our clients are highly important to us and we will protect and serve them above anything else. They have to be the forefront of every business relationship to ensure its the right fit all round. Understanding this, will set things off on the right tone. Im interested in how you'll add value to my clients and how you'll go the extra mile for them. Im not interested in making "£50 commission for reccomending XYZ"
2. This is not a transactional industry. Weddings are some of the most important, most thought about days of peoples lifes. Weddings are built on warmth, depth and understanding. Asking me 'do you have a reccomended supplier for XYZ' is to me, absurd. I have many relationships with many incredible suppliers, but they wont all work for all of my clients. I'm constantly evaluating and expanding my network to ensure the best fit and service for my clients.
3. Give it time. Rome wasnt built in a day and neither were any of my relationships in the industry.

The kindest words from the utterly goregeous R&M. All the way from Philly, USA to beautiful York, UK. Ever grateful to have the most incredible clients:
"My husband and I were fortunate enough to meet Jess in Spring 2022. Over the course of the year, we bought a house and had a baby while planning a Yorkshire wedding from the US (panic!!). Jess was with us every step of the way, a calming presence amongst the chaos.
From Day 1, Jess proved herself to be reliable, knowledgable about her industry, and extremely professional. My husband and I work jobs with unusual hours and live in Philadelphia, so Jessica's communication and organization were extremely helpful. She was so practical with our budget. We felt nothing went to waste.
Based on what we witnessed on our wedding day and from the feedback we received from UK and international guests, Jessica is undoubtedly one of the most talented people in the industry. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. My husband jokes, "Hire Jess if you actually want to have fun at your wedding", because that's what we were able to do! She handles it all.
We cannnot elaborate enough on this point - Jessica IS the trustworthy, professional, sweet, reliable and hardworking wedding planner which you have been searching – she is THE “must hire". Now go book her while you still can."

How to be a gracious guest...
1. Arrive on time.
Perhaps im stating the obvious but arriving too early or too late can be problematic. Often, if guests arrive too early there isnt a whole bunch of options for entertainment for those guests so arriving at the specified time is usually the best option!
2. Read the website/invite.
Your couple have spent hours thinking about where they suggest you park, fly into, where to stay or which taxi to book for your journey home. Texting or calling your couple the days before to ask these queries again to them, can be stress inducing!
3. Respect the invite boundaries.
If your invite doesnt explicitly include a '+1' dont assume you have this included. Weddings are both an emotional and financial investment so adding people on here and there can disrupt the plans.
4. No gifts means no gifts!
Perhaps your couple have stated this because they're not local to the venue and can't transport them home or maybe they genuinely don't want them. Either way, its best to listen to this one too.
5. Listen to those working.
Your couples photographer / planner / videographer is working on behalf of your couple (*we're not making it up, promise!) If your asked by the photographer for a moment of your time for a group shot, your couple have requested this! Similarly with your planner, if we ask you to take your seats or move into a different space, were asking because its all part of a well thought out plan- trust the process.
6. And lastly, enjoy the party!
Join in with as much as you feel comfortable doing and celebrate with your couple. They've put on a celebration of a lifetime - join them!

Happy National Garden Day! Thanks so much to @meadowsandmulberry for the tutorial and materials. I had great fun making this flower crown.
Firstly, I selected about 15 or so stems from a mixture of what I had in the garden and then bits left from a @hollybrookflowerfarm bucket. Chopped them to roughly equal lengths. Karon kindly provided me with the wire base for the crown so I then taped and wired each individual stem for sturdiness. Then, I wired the flowers onto the crown base, starting at one side. I used my tougher foliage as a base and then went back again but its really important to follow the same direction of your flowers. Then, I attached some ribbon for fastening and the flower crown was complete! No where near the pro's version but not horrendous for a first go!!
