There was nothing about one of yesterday's deliveries for Amy & Hugo that I didn't love. That colour palette sings to me, so much so that I popped out to find Emily the EO at @oxneadhall, and when I stepped back into the gallery to hand over, I was wowed by the colours and textures.

Keeping it simple doesn'tmean it can't be stunning. At @cleywindmill for H&Rs wedding day with a tall 2-tier of spiced carrot cake and ornage blossom buttercream and a layered chocolate chip cookie dough cake. (And what a lush mouthful it is!)

Happy Wedding Day to Mr & Mrs Wilson yesterday at @cleywindmill. I had spiced carrot and walnut cake with orange blossom buttercream on top with lemon cake and Buns-made lemoncurd and gluten-free cupcakes scattered with some finger licking, chocolatey brownies under guard in the kitchen. As standard our textured 'stucco' buttercreama and hand drawn canvas and easel. 🎨 🖼
Coo, there was a fair breeze a blowin' and the Cley team were wedding day magicians again (it's nearly September, girls!). I'm always happy to deliver to Cley where the hosts are so welcoming.

It's one of my happiest cakes this week. I've had lots of birthday bookings for my little hand pained acrylic cake toppers after the #beardedtit cake in June. Not (read none) all have had a pic as I've been flitting here and there, and honestly, the socials have been left a bit 'free range' (read abandoned). It's been a tricksy few months if you've been keeping up, and this little bird absolutely made my day. More please 🙏
It was delivered on pretty bum day after my car got clipped delivering it, (thanks country lane middle of the road driver) then the next cake collapsed, just slid off the dancfloor and there are no pics. Thankfully, the recipients were VERY gracious and mopped my tears 😢 It means a lot to a creative to habd over their work, it's personal for us.

Feelin' a lil' cool and funky with this modern/retro/new feel looking cake. A marriage of regular barrel cake with dried seed heads and ox-eye daisy, a smooth edged cuboid tier, and gold imprints with more dried flowers.

It's a feature that I love about designing your cakes, soft pits and edges, some gilded or raw. I believe it's like the beauty of an ageing classical building (happily, I have it on good authority that my cakes don't taste like dust and are, in fact, 'amazing')
@sharoncudworthphotography was equally fascinated by them at @raynhamnorfolk at a recent styled shoot. They create little pockets of interest in another wise bank canvas of buttercream. Im parcial to a smooth, crisp edge, but I am 100% all-in for an artistic, ruinous stucco.

*USP alert* [u.n.i.q.u.e s.e.l.l.i.n.g p.o.i.n.t] EVERY one of my weddings comes with a hand drawn canvas and easel, it's one of my USPs, baby! My background, many moons ago, was art and design at Amersham, waaay back in the 90s. I've always loved a free-hand observation, and my style is very loose and organic. It all started when I used to leave a note for the photographer to ask if I'd be able to get some profesh images, it progressed to leaving little doodles for the couple or venue to say what was in the cake. Now I leave this for the couple as a keepsake with a wax seal and easel, and the event organiser/chef fet a food matrix ahead of delivery.
I have these available for celebratory birthdays and anniversary cakes, and lovely for thank yous/gifting by post if your cakes were paid for by parents/significant adults. Just drop me a line x

This was a last-minute call from J & E for their dad's 80th birthday at the weekend. The brief was birds, beer, and binoculars. I simplified it to a hand painted #beardedtit in a Norfolk coastal reeds palette with gold splashes, dried seed heads, and grasses, topped off with my hand-painted tit 😆 on acrylic. The cake was lemon and Buns-made lemoncurd - always a winner 🏆

It's been a busy old week, making a cake for @eastern_daily_press at @caistorhallnorwich featured as a bit of a highlight in the calendar. I did the 100th edition back in 2015 (ish?), which was a 3' cake map of Norfolk with landmarks in sugarpaste.
This 300th Edition cake is a marbled concrete style cake tipped with gold edges and 3 front pages on printed wafer paper. Also featuring dried agapanthus seed heads and rosemary.

I was privileged to be asked to do their cake which was a vegan lemon cake with Buns-made lemoncurd. I had wafer paper front covers and sliced them to make a feature with Norfolk dried seed pods and rosemary sprigs.
