We’ve won!!

We’re officially “Best wedding barn venue in the Cotswolds” as voted for by you in the Awards and we couldn’t be more delighted!!

What an incredible 9 year anniversary present and a great start to the beautiful month of December (on what would have been our owner Didi’s granny’s 116th birthday!!) This definitely calls for a celebration, suggest in the comments what we should do!!

Thank you so much for the nominations, the voting and the love for all things BG & 1604!!

Also a huge congratulations to everyone who has taken part in these awards, it’s been a tough year but the community within businesses in the Cotswolds has never felt stronger!!

Yesterday we celebrated our prettiest Halloween yet! Handmade pumpkins, lots of home grown produce including pears, dahlias, hydrangeas and so much more, all made for stunning displays in our 16th century Thatch Barn.

Autumn is such a glorious time of year, but often a season people associate with dark, muted colours, a bit drab and plain? This photo shoot, styled by our owner designer & supplier Didi and captured beautifully by shows you how to have fun, to push boundaries and incorporate colour and texture in different ways, ignoring any pre conceived rules from friends and family on what you should do on your wedding day, to the side! This is something Didi uses as a principle in all her designs, whether interiors or gardens and what she is explaining more in her up coming interiors, table styling and wreath workshops before Christmas.

We had so much fun and have received fantastic feedback from our first Spring events in March and April, for both new and booked couples, which makes these events so worthwhile for all the organising and coordinating that goes in to delivering them.

They are always such a great opportunity to mingle with our events and sales teams, to chat through menu options with our chefs, wander through the onsite accommodation and discuss the night prior dinner choices with the @1604.co.uk team and generally just soak up the atmosphere of all things yellow on this occasion, inspired by our florist Roxie from for this Spring brief.

An enormous thank you, to all our suppliers who worked so hard to attend in person, just as the wedding season was getting under way and for sharing their craft to our guests, inspiring them all. We appreciate your support to us as a venue so much, love the vibe you bring and seeing you in our home, having fun and making our events shine in the Spring sunshine is such a pleasure!

For this occasion only, we have a wonderful hand picked selection of suppliers in attendance, placed throughout the venue, including cake designer, bridal wear, live illustration, two musicians, photographer and videographer, florist & stylist, stationer, celebrant and registrar who can’t wait to share their experience and knowledge with you and help you envisage your perfect day at Blackwell Grange.

Wander through this privately owned family run gem of a venue, soak in the 16th century Thatch Barn, where you can hear our musicians and imagine your wedding day unfold.

Enjoy talking with our expert team on hand, let your taste buds be delighted by our live cooking chefs and taste the Spring signature cocktails from our bar within the contemporary Orchard Barn.

My wife Didi, son Archibald and I are delighted to welcome you to our beautiful wedding venue. Blackwell Grange has been our family home since 1944, when my grandparents moved here after serving in WW2.
