Let's kick off Tulip Season! And for all those tulips you'll need a tulip vase! This one is stunning, although I do have a confession.... I only have one left in this colour, even though it was super cold last week, you came wrapped up warm and snapped them up! So we have lovely deep orange ones arriving tomorrow and a large vase (as the top of the tulip vase) in the pistachio. Also due in this week, I have a fab delivery of faux blooms, including tulips! Something new for the winter season.... You all know by now that the shop is too cold in winter for living plants. And let's face it, it's bloody freezing right now! But, now seems to be when we want some greenery in our homes, so I've started to source some faux plants. Some big ferns arrived today, and I've some more mid sized plants arriving next week. As you've trusted my judgement on faux botanicals, I'm hoping you trust me with plants! I'll do a story on them tomorrow so you can see how good they look, and decide if they're right for you. In my humble opinion, if you mix faux with the living plants you already have you'll not go far wrong. You also need to be clever with your pot choice, the pots they come with definitely need hiding! I've now been writing this post for a hour, one child phoned and the next two have a sixth sense and call after! It's sweet, and I love that they call me, but it doesn't help with the flow of a post! Faux tricks of the trade!! Often stems will need shortening to go into a vase, you simply bend them and in they go.... ..... but when you come to move them or take them out of the vase they hook onto other stems or get caught up in the neck of the vase. And it's oh so simple to avoid this, just add tape! What a day! When Adam and Hannah got hitched!! It was the most special day, full of magic, joy,love and happiness. Adam and Hannah created the most relaxed, fun filled day, I'm so proud of them, my heart is full. The only thing that could have made it better was to have Dad there. We chose happiness on the day, but today I miss him and know he'd of loved the day and been so proud of his grandson. Houseplants, what's the best way to water them? RAINWATER is best, and when it's warm and wet like today, pop them in a sheltered spot outside. They will love it!! For when you can't let them savour the rain: 🌿 A slow tap is best for medium and large plants. Stand your plant in the sink, pop the tap on a low setting and leave it for 15/25 mins. This will allow the rootball of the plant to have a good soak and any excess will go down the plug hole! Do this every two to three weeks. 🌿 Plants that don't want to be drenched and prefer little and often watering, use a mister. Give them a few good blasts regularly. Your other plants will enjoy a mist in between watering too! 🌿 Plants dried out? Use a bowl of water and leave the plant for a few hours to absorb the water. If it's super dry, give it a little water from the top first, it'll make it easier for the soil to absorb more water. And remember it's easier to rescue a drier plant than a water logged one!
