'Tis the end....
....of peony season!

Yes, these beauties have done their thing for another year.

You may see them in other florists, but not mine, and this is why.

Growers have harvested every last bloom, they then store them, and the result is below parr blooms.

They tend to brown easily and not last very long. And as I would never knowingly sell blooms past their best, it's time to say goodbye!

But don't cry too long, hydrangea's are on their way, let's let this little blast of heat burn itself out and then we'll go for it!

Treat yourself this weekend!

The shop is looking fabulous and is already for you to shop until you drop tomorrow!!

We had a drop of plants today, including these Alocasia Frydek, a gorgeous plant that loves a light spot, with its velvet like leaves it's a real show stopper!

There's plenty of beauties on the flower bar and, of course, lots of wonderful pots and vases.

I'll be ready at 10, will you?!! See you tomorrow 🌿🤍🌿

First world problems but...
..is anyone else not dressing appropriately for the weather?!

Today and yesterday I've cooked, Saturday I was cold, I never get it right at the moment!

Think I need a wardrobe at the shop with a basket of shoes.... that way I might get home and not need to strip off or get a hot water bottle..... or maybe the great British summer could be consistent, and preferably hot!!

Little heads up for this week.

It's been a bank holiday in Holland today so re-stocking of plants will be a bit slower this week.

I have one delivery on Wednesday of smaller plants and then another on Friday of some larger specimen plants, restocking of pots will be Wednesday too.

The good news is flowers are as normal so I'll have a beautiful selection of summer pretties tomorrow!

And, of course Peonies, not sure how many weeks of peony season we have left, so enjoy them while you can, they are the main headline in all our bouquets atm, and you can buy them as a single flower wrap too.

That's my admin post for a Monday, now I better do some boring admin, I've been at Mums today with a whole different looking admin..... do you get the drift of what today's been about? 😂. Not the funnest of days!

It's been a busy one today!

And apart from the wind constantly blowing leaves into the shop it's been a good day!

I've unpacked a few new pieces (check out my story) all ready for the weekend, so if you're in town pop in and see what's new.

I've created some lovely flowers for a Tanners event tonight and you've all be in shopping and securing your bunches of Peony.

The warm weather returns too, so it's back out with the summer wardrobe and the brolly can stay at home 🌞

The last weekend in May, how quickly did that go? We're almost half way through the year 😱

Where oh where have you gone?

Of course I'm talking about the sun and warmth!

After a busy weekend I was going to faff in the garden, but instead I've been cold, yawning all day, and not that productive!

Although I have just completed some nice orders for the shop, flowers tomorrow, pots and plants on Wednesday. I've also ordered some new faux stems in at the beginning of June.

Who's had a productive day and who's had a shivering, sleepy day?!

Nothing lasts forever....
...change is inevitable, and this weekend is Holly's last days working for me.

She's off to try her hand at something new with more regular hours that's closer to home.

Holly's been a huge help to me, especially over the last year, she's been an amazing support both in the shop and personally. We've had some fun and laughter, learnt lots together, frozen our you know what's off through the winters and made lots of gorgeous flowers!

And I'm sure you'll join me in wishing Holly all the best in her new adventures, with lots of happiness thrown in for good measure 🤍🤍🤍

I can't believe I've never been, and only ever watched it on the TV.... and every year I drop the hint to my husband to treat me... but nothing!

So I'm going to indulge and treat myself? And buy my own tickets and by hell or high water be there next year.

I've never been a fan of flower food...

Why?

Those plastic sachets filled with who knows what, polluting our waterways and landfill.

But now, thanks to a local company we have an ORGANIC FLOWER FOOD! And it comes in a jar, so you can keep it in the kitchen and use as you require.

For my flowers, and your garden cut flowers!

So for any flower enthusiast this is perfect, no chemicals and no single use plastic.

Pop into the shop and buy yours, we are also stocking their organic houseplant food.

Did you know Peony plants have medicinal properties?

They have an immune system and mood boosting properties, the seeds and roots are used in Chinese medicine to treat inflammation.

No, I didn't know that either!

And I'm not suggesting you dig up your peony and start munching on the roots, what I can suggest is you enjoy this bloom to enhance your mood and well being!

Peony season is well underway, and it's only here for such a short time, it started early this year, so we may be in for an early finish too.

Fresh blooms arrive in the morning, gorgeous Coral Charm that fades from its vibrant fresh colour to a faded antique cream (as in the photo) and stunning white Duchesses Nemo

My obsession, is now your obsession!

These ceramic bird vases will add so much interest to a bedside table, shelf or small occasional table. They just need one simply, beautiful flower, no fuss or arranging!

They are subtle in colour but so overt in their style!

We've three sizes, small £32, medium £60 and large £120.

Small has sold out once so I've ordered some more for tomorrow, pop by and have a look!
