Our Story

Direct Contact Exhibitions, (DCE), has a MISSION to spread technical knowledge and information to as many of the UK’s construction professionals as possible.

The business is the brainchild of Steve Hilton who had worked on a number of national shows at the big exhibition centres. Steve felt that those events were quite demanding for visitors with many needing to travel considerable distances, so the DCE format was quite simple, “We will take the events to the audiences and DCE launched a series of different themed events which travelled the country”

Initially, these were lunchtime PRODUCT SHOWS featuring 25/30 display stands and excellent hospitality which included FREE drinks for all visitors as we tried to make the events as busy and well attended as possible!

We staged some events with 100+ display stands and, because we were based in Stoke, used to have Sir Stanley Matthews come along and officially open the events.
